July 30--still blooming

There is less every day, but still enough for some color in the garden. Here are some that are blooming today. The first 3 are last flowers.

This one really frustrates me. It's a VL and has lots of flowers left, but it rarely opens well. This is the closest to opening today.

Autumn Wood has been fabulous this year. Still has several more buds.

This is a strong plant and much prettier in person.

They all look wonderful. What's with this strange year and mums already blooming? Well, at least I don't have to wonder too much about that as I don't have any mums.

Your INHEARTED WEATH looks great. Mine was done long ago and so yellow this year, I guess from all the terrible heat. ANY DAY NOW and INDY RHAPSODY tie for me for my favorite of the group.

Rita, this is probably the best flower I've had this year on Inherited Wealth. It has been an off year for me for many flowers with little rain.
I like having mums for fall bloom, but I think they'll be long gone by fall this year.

Trouble in Paradise and Cliff Jumper are my favorites too. I have Butter Cream too, although the 1st 2 years I had it, I had to move it several times. It still did well, but not as well as this 3rd yr. I know, sleep, creep, leap, but it did not have a chance to sleep and creep, LOL

Sgbof is indeed eye catching. The name would be a killer to have to write repeatedly though....I'm with Kate on Solar Magic.........Persian Ruby is on my short list....I grew Sherri Lane Carr for many years when I first began my collection. It's not colorfast here, but it did pump out the blooms.............Sugar Cream Pie has caught my attention with that yellow edge. I didn't have lots of great blooms on my INHERITED WEATH this year either, last year even worse. I got this from Paul Owen afew years ago as I had seen pictures and always thought it was so beautiful. But it has been better in other peoples pictures than the real thing. At least for me. I remember last year thinking that the flowers were small compaired to others around it and the same this year.

Your Autumn Wood is so pretty! I wish mine were still blooming. By the way, I had a mum that started blooming at the end of June. You are supposed to pinch them back until the Fourth of July, but I didn't it formed buds and started blooming.

The drought didn't seem to bother Autumn Wood. It's having its best year ever. I did pinch the mums back once. Guess I should have done it again, but everything is so early this year I'm not sure it would've been enough.

Indy Rhapsody looks beautiful. I love the form.

Autumn Wood has also had a stellar year here. I just found another rebloom scape today coming up and there is another reblooms scape waiting to open and it still has blooms from it's regular scapes.

I'm glad to hear you're happy with String Theory. I've thought about getting it.

I LOVE, AUTUMN WOOD, but they are all gorgeous.Mums don't bloom in July? Mine do. mine blooms almost every month of the year except December, January and Febuary.When the blooms are finished,I cut the blooms off real short and it sstarts over again.I have 5 or maybe 6 small pots of them, different colors and when the blooms die, I cut it off to maybe 3 inches left in the pot,and it starts over again, making new foliage and blooms.

Wow, what a beautiful bunch! Any Day Now and Anchors Aweigh are my faves. Inherited Wealth did not even bloom for me this year....maybe the deer got to it and I didn't notice....LOL Anyhoo....this post made me think of it.

I like INDY RHASPODY. Might have to add that one to the other INDY'S I have here. INHERITED WEALTH did terrific here this year. Last time I checked, AUTUMN WOOD is still blooming here too.
I plan to add mums this year to the garden as I miss having them.
