When this tree is young it does not bear much. My other trees are small, but if sweet is what you're looking for, then you have one of the best tasting varieties and don't really need anything else. It will take about five to seven years before you get a nice amount of fruit. The tree needs to get established and is slow growing. Just protect it from rabbits etc. Having any another variety would help pollination. The fruit quality will get better and in a few years you'll be happy you have this one. Just give it about a gallon of water per day during the hot season.

@bananafan, check this out, it has some nice pix of fruiting jujubes, as well as important horticultural details. Like mulberries, jujube flowers and fruits on new growth, so you could literally carve it up as you see fit. As the two last links show, you could grow them close together, simply by cutting off lateral branches to about 6 inches long, and they will grow like columnar italian cypress trees, which grow elegantly slender and upwards. The 6-inch long lateral branches will then thicken, and form fruiting spurs. Most jujube growers would let their columnar jujubes grow to a manageable 10 feet tall, then chop off any vertical shoots, and just let the lateral shoots send out fruiting branches for easy access. This practice also maximizes the trunk strength to height ratio. i had got mine from someone on here i think. the name was unknown, but i got 3 small plants one is in the ground and 6ft tall now. it doubled in size in the last 3 months. i had seen some flowers and it produiced 1 fruit but i may have given it some high-Nitrogen fertilizer it dropped that 1 fruit (or, something ate it) the other 2 are still in pots. cant decide where to plant them and summer is almost over. guess i will wait to spring to plant them out. I have grown Ziziphus mauritania from seed and it is very easy. All you have to do is crack open the seed covering and inside of that there is usually one or two seeds and they sprout within a few days. If you do not crack open the covering it may take a few weeks for germination. The only problem with growing Ziziphus mauritania from seed is that the seedlings are very thorny and the fruit are not always that great. I recommend grafting a thornless version onto that seedling. Ziziphus mauritania seems to grow quickly and can become a very large tree. It would not be a great container plant as a seedling because of all the thorns.
