Wednesday's Wonderful Rebloomers and Late Bloomers

As some of you already read, my computer virus software blocked Gardenweb as of yesterday afternoon. So I can't access it as readily as I used to do. Now I have to use my husband's computer - which he does not like, or I have to use a laptop with a faulty on and off switch. I'm using the laptop today to upload today's photos. I am so thrilled to have this many daylilies blooming this late in July. In many past years, everything was pretty much over by the Fourth of July. More lates and rebloomers that really rebloom were the answer to extending my season.

I REMEMBER YOU is definitely my top performer this year. The rebloom is just magnificent on it.

Here's the clump reblooming today.

LADY WU started blooming today, and as you can see, she had a nice amount of buds on the rebloom scape.

BLUEBERRIES IN CREAM - the last bloom

PURIFY MY HEART - I was impatient for this one to start blooming, but I'm glad it's a later one. I don't know if it's still on Northern time, or if it will always bloom like a late here.

ROSY RHINO is blooming now on orginal scapes and one rebloom scape.

oh my,That first photo just takes my breath away. That is just gorgeous with the two blooms,that purple and Victorian lace is gotgeous together, then the next photo is beautiful too,and they keep getting better right to the end.it was good to see Wonder of it all again, too, mine is finished and I'm hoping for some rebloom on it.Last year, it had 13 scapes to start the season, then had 13 more scapes for rebloom.I'll be happy with just a coupe to extend its blooms.I did find my first repeat scapes this evening while watering a few that looked dry. found 2 rebloom scapes on Beautiful Edging, and one just starting on a nother plant, but, got so excited to see the 2 on Beautiful Edging,I forgot which other one had a scape. jean

Debra, I don't know what happened to my post, so I will reply again. I love Susan Weber and Pretty Gaudy every time I see them and they are my picks of these (I don't know why I grow neither of them): except I love Blueberries and Cream too. What a quandry. They are all my favorites. I love your cat. Black and white cats are always lovely to me. Beautiful Butterfly too. Yours didn't get away before you snapped it's picture. kay

Excellent post (as always) Debra! I can always count on you for such good advice and wonderful pictures. Since I'm just starting out with daylilies, it is very helpful to know which are the lates. (You and Rita are the queens of the enablers, you know!). I am taking notes because I need to have more late-bloomers. It is so, so difficult to choose any one favorite of those you posted. I can see that I would want ALL of them! Do you remember where you got 'Adrienne's Surprise'? I really like that one, and 'Techny Peace' as well. I have long admired 'Magnificent Dad' and always think I should get it to honor my Dad. Wonder how it would do in zone 4? 'Charlie' is one I remember from another post and that I really LOVED it...so adorable. And I love your unusual forms too. I pretty much like all daylilies (the only ones I am sick of are the orange ditch lilies because they are growing wild everywhere up here and folks who don't give a hoot about gardening dig them up off the sides of roads and that is ALL they plant in their yards!! Love, love, love them all. Your photographs almost look 3-D to me, absolutely outstanding. I was very interested that you have Amber Finale. I believe at one time I planned to order several from the hybridizer but never did, and then she died. She had a lot of beautiful daylilies and the fact that they were late bloomers were of great interest to me. I am sorry I let them slip by, would have liked to have a few to see if they would do well in this climate.

Woops! Thanks Nancy for correcting the name of Blueberries AND Cream. I also have Raspberries In Cream, and I get the names mixed up.

Here are more:

Today's photo of NATALIE ANTOINETTE. There were three blooms today, but the scapes were not close together.

ANASTASIA started reblooming today, but had very little throat pinching.

PRETTY GAUDY is well into it's rebloom.

Everytime I see Pretty Gaudy, I think, "I've got to get that" I don't know why I haven't. But I Remember You is the clear winner. But wow! What a lot of beautiful blooms you have.

Oh Gosh Debra, I just love looking at your photos when I have my spare moments on the the forum here. Heavenly! I had I remember you but lost it over wintered in a pot in 2006. Would love to work out a trade with you in order to get some of it.
Course you are the reason Natalie Antionette and Anastasia are closer to the top of my wish list. Isn't Anastasia the one you showed a pic with pinching? You really take stunning photos!

NATALIE ANTOINETTE is my pick. Love the fat,ruffled bloom. Looks perfect. I like them all but that one really stood out to me.

I REMEMBER YOU looks alot like PIRATE KING that I have here. At least you get a decent bloom.

Nancy - At this point I only have four fans of I Remember You. I don't usually trade or sell until I have six fans. Check with me in the spring, and I may have enough to trade then.

PURIFY MY HEART is my favorite out of everything today. It does definately start late here, has for years. It is the latest to start blooming out of all my Korths.
