A few blooms, and an FFO on Emmerich

Sadly, the huge flush is over. However, some are still blooming, some are reblooming,

and I have an FFO on Emmerich's Filled to Overflowing:

Forsyth's Garrett Mason is looking good:

And several of PO Seedlings are continuing to bloom:

All is not yet lost...but it's ending fast. (whine)

You haven't been whining much Kay. I can't stand it when the blooms end, fortunately, just beginning here so I don't have to think about it for a long time yet. Pretty reblooms.

Thanks, friends, to read what you have to say about the flowers. Looks like the Princess is the"winner" this time out-LOL. Most of you are probably like me, the FFO is fun to see but not necessarily the best one. In case anyone missed the info I posted before, Part-Time Princess is a bonus plant from Judy Davission. I was totally impressed by her doing this, because she lists it at $75 on her website. Celeste, my husband is the best, he is always working on the garden or something else around here. He also fixes everything that breaks, and like your husband, does all the mechanic work on our vehicles and mowers. As far as mowing, we both mow. I have my own riding lawn mower and he has his, and together it usually takes two hours or more--that's both of us mowing --to get everything done here. And, some of that weeding is done by me, at least in the morning before the heat sets in. Avedon

Cool Hand Luke looks very cool indeed (sorry, I couldn't resist). Slipped My Disco has one of those names that would be terribly hard to pass by and now I see the blooms are also very eye-catching. Because I am in a very bright kind of mood, Apache War Dance looks like a most appropriate flower..very bright! Thanks for a fun little stroll through some of your beauties.

Nat, I went out and measured Filled To Overflowing and the scapes are about 30-36" tall here - much taller than the 24" I see it's registered at! Chris, I really can't comment on increase and bud count, as I don't pay much attention to those things. Plus most of mine were in pots for a while. Here's a brief summary on the ones I have pictured: Filled To Overflowing - have had for 5 years, it's been in the ground for 3 years I think. Lots of fans now. Last year it was one of 2 or 3 daylilies I had that had rebloom. Mount Ararat - just got last May, was in a pot until last fall. 4 fans, each fan has a scape, but 3 of the fans have another shorter scape coming up (instant rebloom) Soul On Fire, Flight Into Egypt, Fear Not (also Light of the World, Overflowing Heart, Seventy TImes Seven and Open Door) - have had for 2-4 years, were in pots until last fall. I don't think any of these rebloom. Kingdom Without End - got last July, planted in a pot, then planted in the ground in the fall. 3 fans, 2 fans have scapes (1 fan has 2 scapes). I have some others too. Almost all of them have been great performers for me. The ones I like the best are the ones that are the colors I like best - purples and reds - Filled to Overflowing, Mount Ararat, Fear Not and Kingdom Without End. And I love the ones that are EMOs, since I am always up early in the morning. I think the best EMO and CMO (even on a 50 degree morning) of the ones I have is Kingdom Without End.

Very nice! Love Filled to Overflowing! Sad for you that your season is winding down, but it looks like you will still be enjoying a few blooms down the road. New plants are kind of like a season extender in their own right!

I am happy that I am in the same boat as Rita...don't have to think about the end of the season for a long time yet!

The First One is Karol Emmerich"s Little Light of Mine. It has been prettier on rebloom than it was when it originally bloomed.

It has been a good bloomer even this first year.

North Wind Dancer is looking awesome. I keep going out to mine to see if a scape has started coming up. No luck yet.

I like the bicolor red & white (cream?) seedling!

My favorite of your photos is North Wind Dancer. I love the way those cascade UFOs dance in the wind.

You are very fortunate to get reblooms. That's a rare occurence here.

Little Light of Mine is beautiful! FTO is turning into a beauty. I can only imagine how gorgeous MITB will be once it gets settled.

I agree, as it winds down, it almost like the day after Christmas.
But, we've got the pictures, and the cleanup, and the plant moves, and the pods and the seed starting, and if we're lucky with yard space, new beds and...more daylilies to bring in. Yay!
