more pics - seems to be my day for twins

I seem to be having lots of twin flowers lately. Here are today's twin shots:

MARY TODD (This is the best I've ever captured its color, I finally got it right!)

NIGHT BEACON (I finally got this one's color right, too. I have taken a dozen and more pics of this at all times of day trying to get it right. . . .)

MATT (triplets!) - too bad it seems to have thrip damage. And, it's much more cinnamon-gold than this picture shows.

I've also got some nice FFOs today:

BRIGHT SUNSET

EVENING HARMONY (I didn't like it last year - it was new, so it was small and too reddish-violet. What a difference a little maturity makes!)

MATEUS, seriously backlit.

TOTALLY SOUTHERN, a remarkably huge flower for me, about 6 1/2".

ZAGORA.

Daylily 'Golden Chimes,' asiatic lily 'Avignon,' heliopsis 'Lorraine Sunshine,' Shasta daisy 'Becky.'

Long view of back yard border - MANY daylilies there, as well as irises, peonies, asiatic lilies, cannas, lobelia, nasturtiums, and other goodies.

Part of my front yard - cool colors. The tall pink flowers are monarda 'Raspberry Wine' on the left, and an asiatic lily on the right. That side includes several daylilies, including 'Evening Harmony,' 'Dallas Star,' 'Wayside King Royale,' an unknown pink-lavender, 'Pink Limeade,' and another I've completely forgotten (and the label has faded out - drat!).

Very nice, Laurel! I think my favorite is Totally Southern, and that's a perfect pic of Mary Todd. Isn't she great?

Very nice, Jan. SIMH and G&G are the ones I like ...Hearts and Lace will get better. It took mine several blooms last year to shape up. I think Grace & Grandeur is my favorite though. I change favorite colors with the weather though. Pink is still my number one but the near white come in close. Speaking of changing weather, mine hasn't....Ellie

another problem has been the search feature doesn't always work. It's hard to know if the member has a thread started or doesn't if the feature doesn't work. I really dislike the ++ and the --- beside any name. And I know for sure that lots of people don't read all of the posts under a members name either. When you see 30, 40, 50 posts, it is just scanned or a few are read and that's it, if they read it at all. Not sure what the answer is to how things should be done either. Should the "powers that be" come in and delete old posts on a thread and just say for example, 40 + positive posts and leave just the last few new ones? That would show the prior positive posts with a number and just leave a few more to read. Maybe they would be read that way. What do do with negative ones added to what appears to be a consistently good rating and then presto, a problem? Need to get our heads together and come up with some good ideas to send to the "powers to be" to help solve the problem. Fran

Katie, I have mixed feelings about the sub. Yes, it's so impressive to see. The doors feel like they should be on a bank vault. When you open the door at night, the lighting is so bright and white(I'm waiting to hear the "angel choir" sound :)). But then I think about just how expensive they are and then I feel a little silly. We also bought a full size fridge and full size freezer by frigidiaire commercial series, which we put in the basement. They look and work great, but without the bells and whistles of the sub and not as quiet. But they cost together a fraction of the sub's price. Downsy- thanks. I originally wanted a dark stain on Cherry, but my wife pushed for this finish and I'm glad she did. Yes, the granite is baltic brown. We had our heart set on this from the beginning(the fact that it was a lower tier didn't hurt, either!) The pictures don't really show how well it goes with the cabinet. The colors match the cabinet such that it makes the glaze "pop." We're so pleased with the result. misstaceyh-Thanks, we weren't going to go thru with running the lights to the island, but thank God my brother is an electrician, or else it wouldn't have happened... He spent many hours doing the lighting after closing, which made it more difficult.

Laurel, I love your photos, especially Evening Harmony. I like how the light behind it makes it look translucent.

Your picture of Matt however I think may be incorrect, unless the color just looks off on my monitor. Yours looks pink to me but Matt is more yellow/bronze. Those triplets sure are pretty though!

I was about to say the same, your Matt is very different from mine. Mine is more yellow, with kind of a cinnamon added.

Thanks for sharing your photos. I'm thinking Evening Harmony should be in my garden too. Here in my garden it is just about mid-season peak-- MsRose just think how anxious we all feel when you southern gardeners are posting your early spring pics. M-A

LOL, no problem Danielle! I'm still learning this digital camera "thing."

I've got some more pictures to share, so I'll add them here rather than start a new thread. Here are this weekend's new ones:

DALLAS STAR (It was paler for me last year; I liked it better that way. Weather probably affects that. Still, it's a prolific bloomer.)

FROSTED JADE (Very reliable, its color blends with everything.)

GREEN EYED PAT (I'm loving this one!)

MINT CONDITION (This is the first time it has bloomed for me - it was a very small fan from Wilds two years ago. I LIKE this flower, so I hope it increases well.)
