Opening this post just put me in a fall mood. Yes, time is flying by, and the colors of your d.lilies seem to reflect the colors of autumn. They are all lovely, and picking favorites is nearly impossible, as always. Your Davisson yellow seedling is really nice, and then there are all the golden tone ones, and the purple and red ones--well, I love them all and don't want them to end. The roses are a nice touch, too. Avedon

Everything's so bright and beautiful, Rita -- my favorite of the daylilies is Hard Times (love the white streaking). But the best of all is the shot of the pink and orange roses. Love that color combination.

This post does have a lot of autumn colors in it. My favorite daylily is Magic Crystal. What a lot of blooms you have on that clump!

Avedon- I wasn't thinking of fall when I posted but do have lots of fall colors. That GOLDNER YELLOW SEEDLING is a big flower and just jumps at you from accross the garden. I got it one year when I bought all sorts of late bloomers from Judy Davisson on the LA one August. She is a great sounce for late bloomers as she lists daylilies each year on the LA.

Chris- Thanks. The roses have been blooming here and there all around the garden. Not like the big spring early June flush but they still look good and supply a lot of color.

Debra- I just had to take that picture of Magic Crystal when I saw all those blooms it had.

Well Rita another great group of flowers I believe Magic Crystal is my favorite out of this group, I really like your orange rose also very bright color.

The roses have their big spring flush, then I cut them back and they bloom again late July, early August, then off and on the rest of the summer.

MAGIC CRYSTAL is my favorite. Don't you just love it when you see those blooms open so beautifully.

Julia- I can't imagine my garden without the roses. But then I can't imagine it without daylilies either. Good thing I can have them both.

Rita, no japanese beetles on your roses? I can't photograph mine anymore...I cut all the buds off in frustration. JB season runs from the first week of July til frost, or in other words, all season. I love my roses but I am about to give up!
Anyway, I am finding even greater love for daylilies as I watch the JB's and the red lily beetles devour all my roses and lilies. Good thing I took lots of photos of my roses in June because all I get to enjoy is about 3 weeks.

I especially like 'Magic Crystal' and 'Pinhill Claret Symphony' for the color. I like that you have some late-bloomers so we can all enjoy them! I'm still planning on getting some lates from Ollalie's, but I haven't decided which ones yet.

Celeste- I don't have any Japanese Beetles. If I see one or two a year, that is all. I do have afew of those shiney light brown oriental beetles earlier in the season but only a few of those and they are long gone now. No lily beetles either, thank goodness. Believe me I am very thankful to live were those pests (at least currently) are not.

Some of my Olallie daylilies are blooming now like VT HOME CAMPANION, VT GALA and VT LATE GREEN THROAT. I really, really love VT LATE GREEN THROAT. Of course, I have later blooming ones than those that haven't started yet.

Congrats, Rita...all your hard work and hunting of lates has really paid off! And, lucky us, we get to reap the benefits via your pictures.

gonegardening- Thanks. I really did work hard to find and keep adding those late and extra late bloomers to my garden. But it sure was one of my better ideas.

More Pretty blooms, and my favorite ISTAHLEQUAH FLAME and MAGIC CRYSTAL. and love the little roses.I dont have no roses blooming now.The leaves on most of them as burnt to a crisp.Even one of my KNOCK OUT roses is burnt to a crisp with this heat.Weather channel said it was 104 at 6pm today and felt like 112.I sure believe him too.

What great pictures. You really had the right idea to get more late bloomers. Love the roses, my husband would really go for the orange roses.

Jean- I just wish you could get some relief from that heat and a good soaking rain. My roses are blooming some but it is not like the big spring flush.

Ellie- I didn't expect to like HARD TIMES as much as I do when I got it. But I really do love it.

Nancy- I never understand why everyone doesn't have a daylily bed or section of a daylily bed with the late and extra late blooming daylilies. It really does great things for the bloom season.
