Hi ESH! So good to hear from you.

The garden is going good, what didn't get washed away by the 5Â½ inches of rain, the freeze and what I didn't wrap up when I plowed it... lol

Both sweet corn (Peaches & Cream) and the field corn are doing well, just need some rain. Hard to believe that parts of the field need water and parts are too wet to plow.

Thanks for asking, but I am doing about as good as could be expected. Fell in the garage the other day and bruised or cracked my tail bone... that is smarts! Go back to the doctor tomorrow for MRI results.

Hope the family is well. Don't you love this weather? If we just had about a Â½ inch of rain it would be perfect.

Ouch. Sorry to hear about your backside. I fell while skiing on the ole tailbone, and it hurt for a long time. Glad to see you back. I'm trying my hand at some veggies this year (and sunflowers)...wish me luck! Take care.

Saying America is not able to win a war and being disrespected world wide isn't a political statement? Perhaps I should start writing how I think the war on drugs making it illegal for gardeners to grow certain plants is stupid. While such a statement would have far more relevance to the container gardening forum I would at least be willing to admit the obvious political overtones. Sheesh. As Al pointed out there is a hot topics forum on GW and there one can talk about foreign policy or the war on some drugs to their heart's content.

For many years, there was a den of red foxes in the woods down by the creek. A pair of them used to run across my patio occasionally, at night, and scare the bejeebies out of me! Guess they kept the bunny population at near zero. In the 40+ years I've lived here, have only seen two babies for a couple of days, sitting in my front lawn and then they were gone. A tenant in a nearby rental property had a white buck that escaped a couple of times and came down to check out my Hosta buffet. The second time he came, I met the owner and invited him to dine on his choice of fried or stew, if his rabbit escaped again. It never came back.

Good post Moni! It is not hard to backup your files. If you have a CD or DVD burner - it is a snap. Larger USB drives are getting quite affordable, and that is better than nothing. Don't use your camera card as your only backup source. An external hard drive is also a great option. You can just copy files right over to it with a couple clicks. None of the backups are 100% safe - I use two backups. I backup to DVD twice a year and to my external hard drive almost daily. You will spend a lot less on DVD's/external hard drives, etc - than trying to recover precious pictures and files!

Oh no, (blush) I have LOTS of long needles upstairs in my sewing room. Why didn't I think of that? Oh my,,,thanks for the reminder !!!!! This is the mix I use: equal parts Miracle Grow and Perlite. And I find it works pretty good, so I don't think it is the mix. I just think it is that darn algae that starts the process. Although I can't account for the drying of the wicks. Now that confounds me. Weird. I am going to start replacing the wicks as soon as I go UPSTAIRS and get my looooong needle. lol. Thanks for THAT reminder !!!! Perle, you should have seen me trying to soap my one hand to gently "wash" the wick hanging out of the pot! And then rinsing it. But that doesn't get the algae off. I though it would be ok,,,,but nope. Not so much. And I usually managed to pull the wick almost, if not all the way out anyway! sigh,,,a real exercise in futility !!!! Rosie
