These have been blooming for a couple weeks now...

Still trying to catch up.

Again, mostly older cultivars~

Bradley Bernard is much prettier than the photo shows:

Cleopatra's Jewel doesn't show as much glitter on the edges as last year. I'm blaming the cool weather:

Dark star has stately bloom scapes in my garden, looking me directly in the eye:

Edge Ahead was moved from a location that was too shady.

It's much happier now in a sunnier location:

El Desperado is one that I didn't care for in its first year, but it has grown on me, since it's such a heavy bloomer now. This photo was taken on a very overcast day, so the color is subdued. As you all know, it's a richer yellow:

Elegant Candy needs to be moved to a less windy site.

Where I have it now, it gets blasted with westerly winds that dry out the foliage. I think if it could hold its moisture longer, it would be more floriforous:

I was hoping to show the green throats of Emerald Dew, but this photo doesn't do them justice:

A favorite E-M bloomer that gets to show off all by itself in one of my gardens, since it's surrounded by later bloomers, Galaxy Explosion is really quite a small flower - Sorry, photo was taken in too much sunlight:

Imperial Lemon has very sturdy scapes and is a blooming machine:

Nice ones! Dark Star and Envy Me are my favorites, and I really like the color on Cleopatra's Jewel. El Desperado didn't impress me much the first couple of years I had it, but once it settles in, wow! It pumps out blooms for a long, long time.

Thanks for your comments, everyone. Debra, Thanks for your comment on my UFO seedling. That gives me a little more confidence to hang on to it at least one more year. Rita, Siloma Cinderella is one of the few DLs that give me re-bloom in this harsh climate. But only if we get lots of rain in Aug. and Sept. (which happened last year.) This year, well, only time will tell. Tom, Thanks for your comment on my "Greenthroat" I wouldn't mind seeing a whole clump of that one in a few years! Jean & Jan, Priscilla's Dream is one of my favorites, because of the 'geometric' patterned EZ. But she's not the best increaser, and not a real high bud count. Have to be patient with that one! Kathy, Judge Roy Bean was planted last year, and bloomed a short distance off the ground, with very small petals. I wasn't impressed until this year when it shot up to a height of about 40", and a bloom size of 9"! hosenemesis, Gee, maybe I should register that one (Greenthroat) in a few years! Nice pictures. Thanks for the look. The Astrid Grafin von Hardenburg has a nice color to it. The Hot Cocoas in the picture might look quite nice in an arrangement or bouquet with some Cinco do Mayo blooms if you happen to have it, and they are blooming at the same time. They can be fairly close to each other in color. Ever give that combination a try? I'm wondering what that would look like since I do not have Hot Cocoa.

Lovely roses, Beth. I hope you get to spend more time with them soon! I liked JOSHUA BRADLEY best, and, of course, I can't get it. I never will understand why Armstrong limits those roses to California. I finally got another Armstrong exclusive, PAUL ECKE, JR. in the Ventura County Auction last year - and it turned out to be an expensive bid, but that was the only way to get it. HALLOWEEN and LIV TYLER are two of my favorites roses in my garden. I like the decorative roses form - what I call "fluffy roses"! And, Masha, mine have clean foliage - thanks to regular spraying! But, my HEAVEN ON EARTH, is always staring at the earth! I got ALFRED SISLEY last year from Ashdown and until just the past few weeks, despaired of it ever growing from the tiny band size I got from them. It has started to bloom and, thanks to your picture, looks like it will be worth all the trouble it has been nursing it along. Last year DREAM COME TRUE was more of a snooze. I dug it up in the spring and put it in a pot. It put out beautiful blooms, so I put it back in the garden. I think it just needed another year's growth to show it's stuff!

Funny, EL DESPERADO took off here right from the time it waas first planted. Its a fabulous daylily in my garden, love it.

I think the picture of GALAXY EXPLOSION looks great with the sunlight hitting the flower, it looks like it has a glow to it. Very pretty. And I just love the two bloom shot of ENVY ME, very pretty.

CLEOPATRAS JEWEL sure has that lovely eye popping saturated color that I love so much. Great looking blooms.

Very pretty Julie!

I love Cleopatra's Jewel even without glitter, and Envy Me is wonderful too! The coreopsis in the background makes for a lovely picture, even with the lavender blooms. Nice stuff!

You have a great selection of daylilies Julie. And all those buds yet to open will keep your camera busy.

CJ would have to be one I would like to have but then again, there are a couple of others which would be just as wonderful to have.

I wasn't into spiders and UFOs until the last couple of years. Now I can't seem to get enough of them!

Cleopatra's Jewel had a much more gold "jeweled" edge last year, but with the cool night temps, a lot of my DLs aren't showing their full potential. Oh well, maybe next year will be back to normal.

I'll bet your El Desperado was planted in a better location than where mine is. That particular bed where mine is planted gets dappled shade for some of the day, so some DLs take longer to mature (IMHO).

Glad you like CJ. It has increased well and is becoming quite a nice clump, which will continue putting on a nice show for the rest of July.

Thanks, and the Coreopsis Golden Showers increases so fast, that I can divide often, so I have it growing in several different locations, making a nice companion to the DLs.

Envy Me looks spectacular in a gentle breeze.

I agree, I have many more buds to open. And I'm still learnig about the different settings on my camera. Sometimes I use the macro mode, but if the auto flash wants to go off, (and I don't want a flash, since it washes out the color), I can switch to the no-flash mode. Lately I've been using a program mode with spot metering, hopefully capturing a bloom with more detail and better color.

Julie: I have yet to figure out all the camera settings on my husbands camera. I am the point and shoot type of photographer. All I know so far is look for the flower symbol on the dial, press down till the red lights blink to get in focus and then shoot. Ah, oh yeah, remember to take the lens cap off. LOL.

Very pretty blooms and I love the tickseed in the background. I have some of that, but it is planted away from my daylilies. I like the contrasting foliage (kinda feathery).
