New Plants From 3' Plugs are too Leggy

Snowwhite

Hi, I planted Sang. Striatum and Johnson's Blue from 3" plugs around April 17 and now they are about a foot tall and falling over. I think I gave them too much fertilizer too soon and they were in too warm a place (inside my sunroom). Has anyone had experience cutting Geraniums all the way back at this stage and will they flourish and bloom this year. The straitum can be pruned at the low nodes but Johnson's Blue would have to be cut back to the base. Thanks for your help, Jane in Colorado
