Sunday blooms

We spent most of yesterday moving mounds of dirt from our project area. But the afternoon was spent watching the FIFA World Cup final. Still have quite a bit of dirt to move yet but want to post some bloom pics before we get started this morning again. Already started getting my Monday pics. Only got 2 new ones that opened yesterday.

I started a thread the other day on the My Daylilies site about our Patio/Pergola project. Trying to update as we go along each day and our "lessons learned". If your interested in seeing what has been happening, hope you'll pop over and take a look. I'll also post here on GW when we finish. Unfortunately the weatherperson is predicting our humidity is coming back along with some hot temps again. Hope they are wrong.

Sounds as if you have been very busy there with hardscape projects. I bet it will be all worth the work when finished. INDIAN GIVER looks good.

Rita: We have been very busy and some days I feel like I haven't spent any time in my garden. I know, it will be worth it in the end but bloom season is going too fast. FRANS HAL started blooming here today which I typically don't see it till late July.

David, I agree with you about Get Jiggy. I have had it in two locations in my garden for several years and have yet to see any pattern variation on a bloom. It does not multiply well for me and, while pretty, looks like many others in my garden. Hot Seat is another that has not multiplied well but does throw some distinctive blooms. Mantis, It is a 50/50 split with the club. I feel that it encourages members to bring some plants from their garden for others to share. I also find it interesting to see who favors which hybridizers. There is one person who brings many Gosssard intros and another one who favors all things ruffly. It is fun. As far as LINDA GLUCK goes, she seems to have adapted well to life out of the pot. She is above the foliage, but not her registered height. Bud count is moderate - ranging from 10 -12 per scape. Barely makes the cut for me, as I have been getting rid of the ones who are consistently in the single digits. To answer your other question about EVENING EYESHADOW, it is flat open in the morning ahead of its parent. David

We had a 98-degree heat factor (with actual temps near 90). The daylilies love it. Tonight will have a low in the seventies. In a few days, a low around 50. Do you grow many Simpsons? Those I have grown do not have good plant habit.
