Robin, I'm still hoping I can come. Is it still the 15th (day before Easter, right?). If I do come, I'll have a lacecap hydrangea, some hostas (Krossa regal and a couple of others), Rudbeckia hirta, purple conflower, confederate rose cuttings (mine never even died back this winter! It's still green), and can bring acuba cuttings if anyone wants. If you want acuba, let me know now and I'll get some rooted. It's quick. I guess I'm committed to coming now. I'm looking for any natives. Could I get another of your Carolina allspice, Robin? The one you gave me last year is doing fine, just leafing out again. Kitty

Guessing by looking through images online...I don't KNOW that these are correct names but just putting out something to give a visual of what they look like.. Sedum makinoi 'Limelight' Sedum Stonecrop (still no name. Flowers very pale pink and kind of look a little lavender late summer to fall and the flowers do not get darker, if anything they fade a little so it isn't autumn joy...) Dianthus chinensis 'Floral Lace Picotee' Dichondra 'Silver Falls' Euonymus japonica, Golden Euonymus Buddleia davidii 'Butterfly Heaven' Too, I wanted to add, I have a nut grass, mint, and ant infestation. I also managed to transfer some other aggressive weeds I have never seen into the yard last year. It is so bad that I can't even transfer things from one place to another in my own yard without making it worse. It is so frustrating I feel like setting it all on fire and starting over LOL. All of the things I have to bring, however, are from cuttings that I took and cultivated in the greenhouse in new potting soil and sand. I don't use chemicals in the yard but I will blast them with liquid sevin in the greenhouse without remorse or regret so all of those things should be bug and weed free...

Plant Swap this Sunday May 15th, from 11-3pm at 182 Sunyside Dr. in San Leandro (near the Oakland border). bring the plants, seeds, cuttings, bulbs, etc that you don't want and take the ones that you do. All types and sizes accepted. Please label your plants if you know what they are and include growing instructions. If you plan to spend the day bring a bag lunch and drinks. Children welcome if supervised and must be dog friendly. Be prepared for rough garden paths, lots of fun, getting dirty, and meeting great people. Thanks to everyone who made it to the swap Saturday -- it was a great time! We had perfect weather, and wonderful food. Thanks to Denise and Jennifer and Linda, Kim and kin and the Terris and everyone else! We had some wonderful plants -- I picked up some great starts of spirea and lilac, enough lambs ears to cover a troublesome slope at work, and several 'new-to-me' plants. Thanks to Jennifer for the "Twist of Lime" hosta -- I know just where I'm going to tuck that into the garden! Whoever brought the beatifully patterned prayer plant -- it's already potted up and in the (indirect) light of the upstairs the bathroom. And the bag of perennial wildflower seeds are ready for a late night trip past some abandoned lots -- prettifying my neighborhood one handful at a time..... Best of all, it was a lovely afternoon sitting around the firepit (thanks, David!) chatting with fellow gardeners about plants, food, dates -- and everything else. Looking forward to the srping swap -- andthe next fall swap as well!
