Loads of Lilies for early July

Daylily season has officially started for me and a bit early. The roses were about 2 weeks early and so are the japanese beetles. All those beautiful roses are now a smorgasbord for the beetles. Those of you who don't have jb's, thank your lucky stars. They will devour most plants especially roses (the pale colors are their favorites) and will do so until the killing frosts. Which means that I work my butt off so that they can gorge themselves all summer. That's one of the reasons I started growing daylilies and stopped adding more roses. I downsized from around 300 rosebushes to less than 150. They might snack on a daylily bloom now and then, but with all those roses they ignore the daylilies for the most part. The asiatic lilies are starting up, with the dwarf cultivars beginning the show. Here's a few photos from this weekend. Thanks for looking!
