You wouldn't get a notice if a post was removed, but I doubt that it would have been removed at all so quickly unless it had objectionable material. Do you think you did what the rest of us sometimes do: preview the post and forget to submit it?

I grow an upright rosemary without a name, that makes a fine little hedge about 18-24" tall. It was a pass-a-long. I've rooted many of them since.

Love rosemary! Tuscan Blue is my favorite - it is upright, has a beautiful vibrant juicy color, blooms in winter (in my zone at least), looks and smells devine!

I don't think I've forgotten to submit a post before, but I was up past my bedtime, and I had copied the blog address into the body of my post, then when I went to put it in the right spot, I went back and erased it from the body of the post. Maybe I then hit preview and forgot to submit it.

I'm trying to remember if I've grown Tuscan Blue or not. When I went to Mexico with a church group, I had someone take my picture with a huge lovely rosemary of some kind. My husband and I also saw some nice looking blooming rosemary plants in North Carolina when we went on vacation June of 2007. They did smell wonderful too!

I have a huge, cascading rosemary beside one of the bridges by our stream. It has been blooming those tiny blue flowers for months now. I have several other plants around the gardens. I love the fragrance and I use it for cooking.

I have about eleven rosemaries, but only two are the trailing variety. I love them; however, parts of some of mine have begun to die back this year. I think perhaps they got too much water last year.

I just love stepping off of my back porch, taking five steps and snipping off rosemary to put with my chicken or with fried potatoes. Mmmmm....

Tuscan Blue is not winter hardy for me so grow it in a pot giving it winter protection, it is my favorite Rosemary. I had a trailing Rosemary for several years in the garden but the last two years have been so wet it croaked.
The Rosemary that is hardy and thrives in my garden is a variety called "Arp". We like roast pork done up with a Dijon Mustard and freshly ground Rosymary coating, Yummmmmmmy.

I have Hill Hardy Rosemary, Tuscan Blue and another variety that is a prostrate variety of rosemary (it sprawls). Hill Hardy is the most winter hardy variety I have grown. I've taken cuttings of it and it roots well in Spring. To me it has the best flavor for cooking purposes and herb crafting.
The others are grown in large clay pots and hauled into the greenhouse in Fall.
My Rosemaries bloom most years but didn't this year for some reason. Beautiful little blue flowers that give the plant a misty, hazy appearance when grown in mass.
I love Rosemary. When I am outside working or just strolling around enjoying the fresh air, I cannot resist pinching off a little stem of it to sniff. Heaven to me. Rosemary is great with Sage or Lavender. The combined fragrances are super together. I use these in dream pillows, soaps, and in linen/clothing sachets. Very restful. I would not have a garden without those three herbs. Even when I lived in an upstairs apartment one year, I had large pots of those three herbs out on my entry balcony. My neighbors loved my little garden.

What I wanted to tell you was how timely this was for me. I planted my first rosemary 'Arp' this spring. It is supposed to be hardy for zone 6, but I don't trust that so dug it up. It is now under my plant lights.

Annie, when I make soap I use a combination of essential oils lavender and rosemary. I love the scent and I am not a perfume person.

I had rosemary in my garden and it did not survive last years winter. I was hoping it would but it died and so did the lavender. I guess I need to find a cold hardy variety or grow some in pots too...

Glenda, the variety "Arp" is supposed to be hardy to -10F with mulch and or burlap protection. I don't give mine any protection here in Z8 and it's thriving, why not experiment with one plant next spring grow it in the ground through the season and when the cold weather comes do the burlap thing. One thing I do know is they don't like wet feet so mine is in a raised bed.

That's a good idea, Annette, I hate digging things up. I just leave glads and dahlias (just have one, but it is a huge clump now) in the ground. One less chore to do always appeals to me.

I'm glad I made it back here! I am hoping to catch up the next few days. Glenda, if you do not have a blog, then you click "Anonymous" when you post. You have to type in the letters shown, too, but if you don't get them right, it will give you easier ones. I really like it when people leave comments on my blog like they do here. It helps to know if people are reading it. I do have a cool counter that shows me how many people are at least connecting to the blog. It shows what country, state and city they live in, how long they were on the blog, if they downloaded anything, etc. I don't know how accurate the length of time is, and sometimes it says there were no returning visits, when the same person had been on on different days. Someone from the United Kingdom downloaded my little piece on an ornamental sweet potato that I cooked and ate. What fun! My blog is not professionally done, but I sure am addicted to it, and reading other blogs.

I forgot to mention that when I worked at a different job site, I had a rosemary live over a winter planted outside on the north and east side of a house, but do not remember what kind it was. I just remember being excited about it.

I grow 'Tuscan Blue' outside my front door, since I like to be able to run outside, clip a few sprigs, and am back in the kitchen in 20 seconds. It's never grown as tall as I'd like, however - I think our soil is too rich so it sprawls outward quite a bit. Spectacular in bloom, though:

I have never seen rose mary bloom.I do have several in my herb bed that survives the winters here but not sure what variety I have.I do know I need to learn to add it to some of my recipes.

My rosemary blooms sometimes, but not such lush blossoming as jkom's. It blooms at an odd time of year, when the weather is cold.

Adding rosemary to recipes can be as simple as laying some leaves on top a pork roast, or sprinkling chopped leaves over some potatoes you're roasting, rubbed with a bit of olive oil. The fragrance is just delicious.
