Some of my spring arrivals decided to give me some blooms today.

A wonderful Group of Beauties Jan! 1 & 5 Jan....yup 1 & 5....:) You are getting some great blooms for having such bad drought conditions.....way to go with the TLC....:)

Jan - LAVENDER FANTASIA looks scrumptious! I got that one this spring. Hope it looks as nice as yours when it blooms. The others look great on ffo too.

Mantis, yes it does...it is a beautiful bloom, but scrawney scapes. Thanks Chris. I want to add some more of them. Certain lilies do well here, but not all of them. Deangreen. DA was a bonus, and it is one of my latest to bloom. Nate, I usually help teach the Advanced Cardiac Life support one day every three months or so. I have retired, but I am reluctant to let all my credentials go at once. I plan to renew my RN license once onme before I put it on retirement. anyway, it was time to have all the new doctors (residents) go through ACLS, so I was going to help out two days...then they asked me to work the third day. Not again. I am no used to walking on concrete floors for 8 hours anymore and it was tough...but I do enjoy the mental aspect of it. I have 77 re-blooms out of about 300. kay

Gentle Shepherd is about the whitest daylily that I grow, although I have several that are supposed to be white that have a prettier form. I'm just not impressed with Gentle Shepherd's blooming power. It just doesn't have that many blooms. Lots of people think a lot of Joan senior that I have thought about replacing Gentle Shepherd. I have Margo Reed Indeed, but I don't consider it white, more a cream compared to Gentle Shepherd. Have several ruffled ones, white with yellow edging, but they aren't pure white like Gentle Shepherd. I appreciate your opinion on Joan, if she really isn't that impressive I'll find something else. I wonder if the zone would make a difference though. I am closer to Maryl's zone, so I may still get it if I find it around here.

Hi, Im not sure when this tree will come out there is a chainsaw but it needs a part- I may have to look into renting one. I would like to do this soon as this tree is such an eyesore. Im guessing it will come out in pieces to try to avoid hitting the plants or the fence. I already cut a number of dead branches off with the sawsall, but it gets tricky on the ladder by yourself. Im not sure if you can see but in one of the pics you can see a bit of the garden down the side of my property, there is a chain link fence between the properties this is the bed that gets hit the hardest, this year I have actually resorted to the plastic fencing you refereed to and it has helped some. It is about 2 1/2 to 3 feet and they can clear it when the notion strikes. But I can't usually catch the back leg getting over it to weed the bed. (Very clumsy) The back bed is deeper with more space between plants the lattice is temporarily helping to direct them :) around the plants. have thought about the kiddie pool for the lab, could be a lot of fun or a horrible mess, gotta love um. Still wondering about a Japanese maple or if there is another suggestion for smallish tree that would be better suited more interesting for this space. I

They are so beautiful. I love the purples. Jan, I hear people saying that they are nice for FFO and I'm wondering why the FFO wouldn't be just as nice as the future blooms? (Still learning;-)

Rick....it's as good as done..;o) Well, I do water constantly, so I guess that's helped, but unfortunately, I haven't had nearly as many blooms as I should have had.

Lainey....Yep, plenty of water from my garden hose!! :)

Jean...Thanks hon, glad you're enjoying my blooms. I love to share them when possible.

Juliet...Both LF and RN are new arrivals in my garden. Hopefully next season will be a better one for dl's and they will really show me what they can do.

Maureen....Hi girl....thanks for the compliments. Sometimes, the FFO of a new arrival will not be as good as the later blooms can be, although, this is not always the case.

Love Lavender Fantasia and Belle Cook. They are awesome looking. And I am so excited you posted a photo of Dublin Elaine! A friend sent me a piece of that as a surprise gift this spring and it doesn;t look like it is going to bloom this year. I love seeing what to expect from it - it is VERY neat looking!

All are so pretty, but 1, 3, and 5 from the first group and all from the second group. I loves bi-tones and hope to start adding more. Beautiful!
