Maritime Fig Trial - Seattle, WA (plus unknown fig photos)

I'm very happy to of found this board! There is a lot of valuable information on it, as well as some really passionate fig people.

I live in Seattle, WA and am going to do a "small" fig trial to see what varieties might perform well in our maritime climate. We are notorious for failing to ripen two crops. Our low heat units are a major contributor (Portland does much better), but to our advantage we never get too cold, and our summers are always sunny.

The varieties I am going to try:

Conadria, Archipel, Santa Cruz Dark, Excel, Mary Lane, Deanna, Verte, Adriatic, Yellow Neches, Orphan, Zidi, St. Jean, Violette de Bordeaux, Blanquette, 135-15s, Dauphine, Hative de Argentile, Black Madeira, Golden Celeste, Barbillone

The varieties I am looking for:

White Texas Everbearing, Hardy Chicago, Osborn Prolific, Lattarula, Peter's Honey, Madeleine des Deux Saisons

If anyone will have winter cuttings of these varieties, please e-mail me. I will gladly pay for the material and shipping. I can also provide cuttings from my neighborÂs tree (see below) in exchange if interested.

Any other input on varieties that might succeed would be greatly appreciated.

Our neighbor's very old fig tree (the fence is 6 feet tall):

I've always assumed it was the variety King, but it's hard to say for sure. It fruits large figs once a year.

Thanks!

Mark
