Philistine Champion & Man of Sorrows are tops, but they are all wonderful. Roman Cohort is really attractive too with that eyezone.

MAN OF SORROWS is a beautiful red. Wow, so vibrant. But FAITHFUL AND TRUE with that green throat with the purple looks so pretty.

I may have gone to the extreme on not caring. I was overwhelmed (caring "too much") about aspects of my life. The budget is ok, but not in great shape as I keep spending too much on going out to eat. I don't care if I make all Ds, if I ever finish the house (in this crappy market, who does care?!), if I lose my 20 more pounds (I gained 4 and lost 2 this week), haven't worn skirts, heels, makeup, or hose in the past two weeks (who can look good swaddled in six layers of sweaters, boots, socks, long pants)... Langour of late winter. Or something else. Ordered some St. John's wort. I have been having crushing depression once a month for about three or four days. I really didn't want to take something 100% of the time when I only need it 20% of the time. And then further thought, Huh, why not? Maybe I'll kill two birds with one stone. I have been sleeping better since I decided not to push so hard on everything. Anxiety or antihistimines, whichever it was. The yoga mat is still trying to get me loose. I am getting new glasses, sunglasses, and contacts next week. Got my eyes checked and ordered them all online. Did the $39 route; I'm really curious to see if it's as great as Ed made it out to be. My big brother has been on his way over to look at moving the electrical box for two weeks now, but has yet to make it. I hired a handyman to come redo the entire back window and he'll contact me next week. Seems strange hiring someone and paying them when I know Ed could, but won't, do it. Silly. But I gotta do what I gotta do. As I walked to class on Tuesday, I was wrapped head to toe in fur, and every inch covered so that the icy wind couldn't cut into me. Still did on my legs, but other than that... and I was thinking, by the end of the semester, I'll be sweating! Only two days later (yesterday) I already make it to a pants and long sleeve shirt only? Not even the end of the semester. Shesh! Yes, our schools were closed on Friday due to the cold weather, but that's because we are not equipped to handle it. Truly. We can't stand at bus stops in frigid weather. But then we didn't shut down for a heatwave last summer like the northeast did. Turnabout. Turnabout.

You have some dark Red ones in first 2 pictures that are reslly pretty..Guess maybe you need some tall stakes to stake the lilies and tie them to the stakesThe first two pictures are so pretty, and I bet the neighbors like walking out there so they can see all the gorgeous blooms.. jean.

Dido you will be familiar with the English saying "All ladies are women but not all women are ladies." Paula/Rosefolly I am getting to the age when I am more than happy to be referred to as a 'girl' but not when used by a jovial male in the context "Perhaps the girls would like to make the coffee/wash up/ prepare a couple of dozen sandwiches, while we men (never boys) discuss this weighty problem. Did any of you see the Big Match last night? That ref really needs to get his eyes tested . . . " Sorry Dido, Sport rears its ugly head and it is the spitting of footballers I really cannot stand, especially in close-up on TV. I'm very non-sporty partly because I was a wheezy child at a time when asthmatics were wrapped in cotton-wool and not encouraged to 'take part'. The older generation of my family were big players/kickers/hitters/throwers/goal-scorers and my brothers and I were always being reminded how feeble we were in comparison. Even my Grandfather, who, by the time I was a child spent his days sitting in his armchair had played rugby against the famous All Blacks in 190?. An impossible act to follow!

Maryl, I thought I remembered you as Lavender Lady!! I think I remember you also have Ava Gardner, another one that has a great lavender color. It is deeper in the mornings and then fades to lighter shades but even the fading is pretty in color. Debra, Cerise Masterpiece does have a huge bloom. Once again, it is on shorter scapes so hard to really put in in perspective but it has been pretty this year. Potion for Passion is a pretty red and I posted that incorrectly in that it is the one with the taller scapes over Rhode Island Red. And it is at normal scape height this year. I know what you mean about poor performers. I have room to push them in the back of the garden but when you don't have that space, decisions must be made!! Nancy, my clumps have been rearranged by early season storms with hail that bent and beat down my scapes so that almost all of the early lilies are blooming from the outside on leaning scapes!They look like they had no scapes come up in the middle. My mid-lates look better so am hoping for better pics on those! Brad, I like the softness and color of Matt McRae so much that I have rearranged the beds it has been in at least three times and have kept it or moved it to keep it each time. Kate

Thank you for looking and commenting. Philistine Champion has had so many of its huge blooms this season. I love big blooms. And Man of Sorros is another beautiful bloomer.

Julia, Faithful and /true has done well this year, but I am hoping for even more of the multiple blooms next years. The colors are outstanding, aren't they? And I fell for roman Cohort when Debra posted photos of it about three years ago, I think.

Man of Sorrows is a gorgeous one. I love that one, and them lIlies, too.I loe the lilies.Never knoew they had such a thing as the lilies, until I saw the pictures of RITA's lilies. Then I was hooked o themk, too.

Gosh Kay, they are really beautiful. I don't know which to pick as favorite as they all look so good. I especially like Blueberry Breakfast, Faithful And True, also Man Of Sorrows and Philistine Champion. I picked just about all of them!

Your Man of Sorrows photo is truly excellent! Great lighting on the blooms! The Faithful and True twins and Roman Cohort look lovely too. My Roman Cohort looks so pitiful this year. It has short scapes, and the burning bushes have grown to close to the clump. I'll be moving it and several others if the weather stays cool a few more days.

Jean, Rita is a class AA enabler. Her garden is so ell tended and her photos are so beautiful, that you want to grow what she is growing.

Mantis, thanks, I got my faithful and /true from emmerich after waiting a year it was not available for whatever reason. It always photographs the same here, but the eye is larger in her pictures which is why I wanted it...sometimes it takes several years to get "the look" though, we'll see. I really like it with the colors and it has bloomed much more this year.

Anika, it is one of thoses whose look changes with temp and with moisture, I suppose...it does have a bit more pink evident, but it is always there. I moved the clump there in fall before last. The first year I had it it was patently unhappy. (3 years)

High prais efrom you, Debra, thank you. My roman Cohort was moved this spring, so the blooms are not quite their usual size...I expect return to normal next year. It is a beautiful bloom.

Well I thought I had a favorite until I saw the next photo and the next and so on I just gave up all are gorgeous.
