There were a few blooming today with more than one flower open.

Rainforest Magic - received 3 fans of this one last fall and it's 7 fans now - I really like it - there was another flower open, but couldn't get them all in the picture together

Nancy Billingslea - these are the best blooms I've had on this one so far this year - still a little splotchy

Time In A Bottle - there's 2 blooms there, one is hiding

This is one of my favorite hostas - Olive Bailey Langdon beside the oak leaf hydrangea

This is the alstromerium "Sweet Laura". Bought this about 4 years ago for my youngest daughter named Laura. I think I need to find one named "Sassy Laura" now. lol

So glad you posted the picture of Nancy Billingslea. I got that one this spring and I sure hope that mine will produce blooms like that in the future. Also love Rainforest Magic, may need to add that to my wish list.

Judy, the area my hostas are in is part sun. They are all doing extremely well there and have gotten huge and need to be divided in Fall. It gets enough sun that I can grow peonies, hostas, hydrangeas, and a few OT lilies in that location. They all seem happy there. I don't believe I have any hostas in full sun.

Thanks Brad! Glad you liked the pinks! Sherry - I have some seedlings started from my Skater and White Tooth crosses. It will be fun to see them in the future. Jen and Kate - Cinderella Blue does have pretty colors, and I'm pretty impressed that it is reblooming so well this year. Kate - It's hard to see so many beds with not much blooming. But I'm ready to start moving, redoing and getting seedlings planted. It starts with digging out dud seedlings next week when the weather breaks. Debra

I left this multiple out earlier. This is Prism Dragon. Beastmaster is shorter than we like. Jena Sallenger is one of the best examples of a bicolor I know. It really is a rather unique color. I don't love Ramming Speed. It's a vigorous grower, but the color is very harsh. Umbrella Cockatoo is one of many yellows we own. Seedling Queen is not a new one but one we are excited about. This is Lady Stephanie Victoria Redding X Rosy Spiketail. If it has enough buds, it will probably be an introduction. Another seedling we are excited about is this one. It is Never Too Late X Mitch Lynd. The flower is rather small and it seems to be a late bloomer. This one has a rather complicated parentage. It also just started blooming this season. It is New Tangerine Twist X( (Southern Summer X Born to Run) X Gypsy Rose). That's enough for today. Nancy

I have never seen an alstromerium before, it is quite pretty. Nancy Billingslea looks really lovely. If you hadn't pointed out the splotchyness, I would never have noticed. Both of the first two yellows are beautiful but I prefer the first one, Rainforest Magic.

Can't pick a favorite from this bunch they are all beautiful. I do love the patterned eye on Time In A Bottle.

I like Newberry Echo. Is it a profuse bloomer? I don't see many buds on it in the pic.

Oh. wow, they are all so pretty. My favorite is NANCY BILLINGSLEA, and my second pick would be RAIBFOREST MAGIC..They are beautiful,and I like your HOSTA, also.

It never ceases to amaze me that there are so many daylilies that I don't have. Newberry Echo is my favorite.

Nancy Billingslea has huge flowers. The first ones were very splotchy. I don't think that's the norm though. She wasn't splotchy at all last year that I remember.
I'm really liking Rainforest Magic. It has a very heavy substance and so far has increased really well.
Rita, you've probably seen alstromerium in floral arrangements. I have some of the larger fancier ones, but they're not very hardy like this one. They have been blooming really short if they come back at all. Very tender plants. Sweet Laura makes a big clump and blooms tall, never fails to come back each year.
Time In A Bottle is one of my favorites also. Really large flower.
Newberry Echo is a huge flower. It's registered as 20" tall, but always gets taller than that here. i would say more like 26 - 28". I can't say about previous years' performance. I've never kept track of bud counts. Right now each scape has 12-16 buds. It's registered as a rebloomer. Mine hasn't rebloomed, but we were in a drought until last year.

Gorgeous daylilies. I am most jealous of the hostas. I first saw them while visiting a friend in Virginia. as soon as I got home I called my favorite local nursery. They said Hostas will not grow here. I then found the hosta society or whatever it's called on google. I wrote them. They said the same thing. They are just so refreshing looking. I can't explain it, but would love them in all my beds. Would have to move, alas.

You're funny:P Sweet Laura, sweet Jessica, sweet Kristina... eventually they all turn sassy! But hey, we want them to stand up for themselves when they go out into the world, don't we?
