Container fig in zone 5?

I would like to grow a fig tree on my deck here in Chicago, but the wintering issue is stumping me. I have plenty of room in my home, with southern windows, but I see that this may not be a great thing for the plant since they need a chill/quiescence.

Sadly, my garage is 4 flights of stairs away, and so small I barely squeeze my car in there and can only get out of the car on one side. So I could easily haul a small plant down there, but when it gets big and heavy that will no longer work.

Are there any figs that would last through a Chicago winter in a container outside? Other ideas?

Thanks!
