Question: Rain on my parade?

hi all. i'm usually over at the hosta forum, but i have a question for you daylily folks.

two seasons ago i tried my hand at cross-pollinating, and yesterday my first blossom opened. my results were nothing dramatic, but it was a thrill all the same and made me want to try some more. so this morning, bright and early, i was at it again.

that was about ten hours ago. now the skies here are about to open up - we're going to get (as we have almost every single day this month) a major, drenching rain. so here's the question: how long does the pollen need to be on the pistil undisturbed in order to be successful? is there any hope for the crosses i made this morning or will my efforts be washed away?

thanks.
