I worked on those terraces gardens last year and I worked on them some more this year. Wouldn't be surprised if I was working on them again next spring. Before I had the terraces I used to grow nasturtiums here in big tall pots and they would trail down. They looked good in the pots but look even better spilling down the wall. It was never really a serious consideration not to plant the nasturtiums up there again this year. Plus its really easy for me to do as our local nursery were I buy lots of stuff each spring sells the starter plants in 6 packs so I just buy and plant. I love the jewel like color tones of the flowers and I even think the leaves are pretty. They are a very easy flower so I intend to replant them in those three groups the way they are now each spring.

The Watchyl is just loaded with buds. The color on this pic looks more appealing than that of the previous pic; it does have a nice contrast between throat/eyezone and primary color. You wanted a paler color, as I recall. Spacecoast Starburst is very attractive. No problems with vigor or hardiness in your area? Toby vs. Godzilla looks promising.

Marg - I got CLARENCE last year at a grocery store garden centre. Funny thing is, they weren't selling that iris at all. It must have been dug up by the supplier and shipped with the others, thinking it was one of the others! It had the wrong label in it (which was the right label for all the rest it was with). I just happend to be there the day it decided to bloom and recognized it as CLARENCE and bought it. The same exact thing happend at the same store this year except this time I ended up with DELIRIUM. Both were happy mistakes but at least I knew I was buying mistakes. I wouldn't be quite as happy to have bought something and have it unknowingly bloom as something else. Also, I don't think that BLAST is what you have. Mine is an Intermediate and the flower is not on a tall stalk and the flower is also not as large as a Tall Bearded type. Jason

Hi all.... Thank you for appreciating the beauty of all my flowers...my 2 favorite flowers in the world are roses and lilies. I am glad you like the dahlias too...they were huge, some measured nearly 11 inches across. Up here in zone 4 I have to dig them (and the gladiolus) up every Fall and store them in a cool basement til spring...some bulbs I have "recycled" for nearly 10 yrs. The problem now is that roses are taking over most of the real estate in my yard, so there is getting to be less & less room for other things. Phyl...sorry I forgot to label the lilies. In order, they are: Centerfold (Asiatic) Luminaries (O.T.) Rosalinda (Asiatic) Anastasia (O.T.) pink, in foreground White Henryi Arabesque (O.T.) mixed Orientals Let me tell you, that Arabesque is a monster of a lily! It is more like a TREE...it grows to stand taller than any of us (over 6 1/2 feet tall) and the stalk is so thick that in the Fall when I go to cut down my lily stalks, I need a SAW!! And it blooms later than most...there could be 20 or so lilies that slowly open from the bottom upwards. It is also exceptionally fragrant, but not overpowering as some. I got it from "The Lily Garden" if you are interested...that and Luminaries (the yellow OT). The others I got from B & D Lilies. Annabeth...that cute little rose in front of Tiffany is "Pink Rosette", a floribunda that blooms in clusters all summer. Mine is very prolific, and the little flowers are adorable. It stays short and compact. Seeing how you all appreciate my lilies (and Pink Rosette) I'll do another post to show you more! I hope you enjoy them too.... you all are great. Celeste
