Rain and cold nights were not ideal, but overcast skies did bring out the color.

STAR OF INDIA between rains

NIGHT EMBERS has terrible foliage

NEVER GET AWAY Old, simple, but luminescent tall blooms are a beacon in the garden (pink, yellow, cream, green blend)

LAVENDER RICHES I wouldn't be without this old diploid (taken on a cold morning when things weren't opening well)

It must really be a great year for MYSTICAL RAINBOW as it looks just stunning! Mine does too so I think it likes all the rain. It is my pick of this batch. Your lily is a pretty one. Oh, I like STAR OF INDIA too.

Hey Helen. The weather was gorgeous the whole time. We had a passing shower in Grand Turk which was over before I got out of a shop and there were a few sprinkles while in St. Thomas but they helped cool us down. It was in the mid-90s while we were in San Juan and no cloud cover! UGH!!! The iguanas were sunning themselves in St. Thomas on rocks on the pier near where the ship docked in Crown Bay. The curly tailed smaller lizard I am unsure of the identity of. I assume it is in the skink family but not for sure which one exactly it is. My mom's cat caught one of the native ones here in the south which got into her glassed in back porch and brought it into the house for my mom. Needless to say Mom was not happy. She chased that thing throughout the house where it got under the TV cabinet and even climbed the walls. She finally got it back onto the back porch but the cat brought it back in that evening. My brother in law had to finally catch it and put it outdoors. No, never did take any pictures of the jewelry. I upsized my diamond stud earring from right under 3/4 of a carat to just over a carat, got a tanzanite, diamond, and austrian opal ring, and an alexandrite ring. Alexandrite is really cool because it turns colors from a mossy blue green color to purple and finally to a rose colored stone when it goes from fluorescent light to incandescent lighting. I needed another tanzanite ring like I needed a hole in my head since I have two other tanzanite rings but as I said previously when talking about clematis colors, I am a purple freak! The only way I could justify the purchase was since one of the current rings is a plain trillion cut tanzanite and the other one is an oval tanzanite with smaller diamonds around it. I guess the austrian opals and the much darker purple tanzanite took it over the top! LOL

Thank y'all so much for looking and commenting. The cat plants have been looking really good lately. Julia, I have no idea how two and a half cats was named although Clement often uses bits of each "plant parent name" when he names a new one. Yes, Sun Dazzle continues to bloom...it can't be long now, but it is a winner in my opinion. LH has always done really well here and has a lot of buds as usual. Nancy, They do tend to get better, but every one of those two's buds are pretty whether single or multiple. blooms. I like Two and a Half cats much better this year than before. It takes two or three years for them to reveal themselves, doesn't it. Sherry, I had many, many buds with raindrops on them but I am tired of the rain. I will be wanting rain as summer moves along, but we've had a lot and more promised. Today has been weird; One heavy shower followed by a bit of sun and repeat and repeat again! The rain has had a crazy effect on everything. I can see quite a few big snowballs on one of our snowball trees. They bloomed in April. Not bloom again in June. kay

Mystical Rainbow is gorgeous, wonderful color. I really like Answering Angels & Lavender Riches too. Your planters look wonderful, & I love the lily, I don't think I've seen one quite like that one.

What a beautiful clump of Mystical Rainbow! It looks like that one does very well for you. Your Star of India shows excellent applique patterns. The applique eye has disappeared from my Star of India with the rainy, cooler weather. That one is a very strong grower for me. The flowers on Night Ember are so pretty, no one will notice the foliage. Thanks for sharing you blooms!

Star of India can be very inconsistent in the sharpness of its patterns for me. Moreover, sometimes it is more of a lavender than the purple pictured here.

WOW;Those Planters are very very pretty. NIGHT EMBERS is a gorgeous bloom,and LAVENDER RICHES, too, but my favorite one is ANSWERING ANGELS. Gorgeous.

MYSTICAL RAINBOW and LAVENDER RICHES get my votes. I have MR and it really is that pretty.

ANSWERING ANGELS is also a very nice bright one. I like it too.

The planters are very lovely.

LAVENDER RICHES is lovely and is my favorite here. Also like ROCK SOLID and ANSWERING ANGELS.

NIGHT EMBERS is one that is high on my wish list. Will you please clarify for me if you meant it has terrible foliage at the moment, or it its foliage is typically a problem in your garden?

Casey: Night Embers has terrible leaf streak this year. It may be the location or the rain this year, but as I recall, I had the same problem last year. I like the flower a lot. Please note that the picture I posted is much too bluish; in reality, it is reddish black, and I should have noted that. The pic was taken on a rainy day, and my camera gave it a bluish tone not true. I think I may try a different location for this plant.
