I am slowly getting around to getting my pictures uploaded but wanted to share a few with you from Monday.

A classy lady

This one was new to me last year late in the season -- so first bloom for me.. love it but try saying that name 5 times fast!

A bright greeting in the morning - opens very early

Another of my favorites.. you know me and the color purple!

New to me this year-- gotta love those Ledgewood's!

oohh Ellie.. hopefully you will get fixed soon.. I think it must be definately something with photbucket's end.. you'll have to pull up a chair with a nice cup of coffee to catch up--there are some lovely daylilies being posted now from everyone.

beth, Beautiful blooms. What kind is it? A few of mine have bloomed so far this year. I have a few others that have buds. It has been so windy that all the leaves have been getting shredded and buds drop so the flushes lately aren't as large as I hoped. Yours look great though:) My cestrum nocturn just finished its first flush this year. I used to think it had to be humid to get them to bloom when I lived in LA but they do great here in the desert as long as they get afternoon shade. I don't know why more people don't grow them here. It also bloomed at christmas here on the patio too which was a suprise to me but nice! ~SJN

I'm doing good for an 80 year old. Do not spend much time on garden web since the changes. I'm into African Violets now. I have two shelf units-5 shelves each. I do the RRs for leaves and have about 50 now. My hoya are outside on the patio under the roof. Get some rain when the wind blows. I've sore of neglected them. I love when they bloom though. We sit outside in the evening and the fragrance is beautiful. I wished they bloomed more often than once a year. I may bring some inside and put some of the smaller leaved ones on a shelf instead of the violets. I am on Facebook more than here on Gardenweb. I can't get used to all the changes. It was easier before because i had tabs for the hoya forum, african violet forum, and the cactus forum. Now I just go to African violets and only when we are active in a RR, which is now. Most of the violet people went to facebook. Such is the times, changing, changing. Good to see you are still with the hoya. Keep up the great work.

Very pretty roses,,and I love the Koi pond.I use to have a nice little pond too with the big comet goldfish in it,but,wasn't ready to share it with a 6 ft snake,so,I removed my fish and filled the pond in and planted roses in it.Built a above ground pool with a top on it for my fish. Your Koi are so pretty. Jean

Aw, Karen, you are so sweet! I'm sorry I haven't been around, but life, and remodeling really does throw things off! I did most of the tear down, except for the electrical (way to scary for me to attempt). I ended up having a coworkers son-in-law doing the actual build (the price was very right). He is doing a good job, but this is "side-work" to his real construction job, so it is going slowly. Unfortunately I don't think he will be finished with the mudding in the new LR before Thanksgiving, so I can prime and paint. Normally I put my christmas decor up the day after Thanksgiving...so since it doesn't see to be going that way I will be much delayed with my Christmas decorating :( Drywall dust over everything would be a very bad thing LOL. bleigh, thankyou too for your kind thoughts. I guess I am lucky?, I have no husband to have to "confir" with LOL This is a shot of my "old" living room. It is now going to be my dining room, and the third TINY bedroom becomes my new living room. Since the closets are now removed the room becomes a much better size 11'x 11'. Just right for me. If you look into the reflection of the mirror on the wall, you will see the old TV wall that was the wall backing to the old bedroom. The wall is gone now, and I have 2 pony-walls with columns, I am quite pleased with it so far. This is the on-going remodel of the living room side. Forgive the mess, but I still have to "live" there LOL I will be keeping the couch where you see it, but the tv will go on the other wall surrounded by bookcases. I will be putting molding on the columns and crown molding on the upper walls, and chair molding on the walls. I still have a long ways to go (not to mention new floors) (I am standing taking the photo where the new dining room will be)

Shelly, your photos are gorgeous....boy oh boy, don't you just love that Indian Ripple? Mine had 3 honking blooms open on it this morning. Talk about "in your face"!! :)
Love that LBF also and PRR looks to be a beauty too.

Awesome Shelly - I'm curious to see "Ledgewood's Born Free" - is it really burgundy eye and border-the hybrid's photos depict a royal purple?

Beautiful, Shelly! Love Picotee Rippled Ruffles. I have some seedlings with this one as a parent that should bloom next year. I hope she was able to pass along that great eye and throat. Mozambique Nights really appeals to me too. Thanks for sharing. I have missed seeing your pictures for a while.

Chris.. I would consider it actually a cross of the two.. not dark burgandy but not royal purple either.. my picture was ffo in bright sunshine.. will watch and post some future shots too as a comparison.
Ann.. I'll be so curious to see your seedlings. PRR was new to me last year and I missed the blooms.. so I am anxious to use the pollen this year.. I'll be a couple of years behind you with some seedlings..but will be fun to compare.
INDIAN RIPPLES was one of my favorites that day - I have very few diploids so I froze the pollen today for use when I have one in bloom.

Fabulous, Shelly! My favs are Picotee Rippled Ruffles, Mozambique Nights and Indian Ripple. Love those colors and uniqueness.

Not much of a candy person, except when it comes to one of my favorites - Indian Ripple. It does very well in my garden and it's alway ready to have it's picture taken. I still have it's baby picture.

Shelly they are all gorgeous. Here in central PA my DLs are just starting to bloom. I have to get busy with my camera. I am anxiously awaiting blooms from the new ones added in 2007.

We had so many thistles this year. My husband just retired so he helped me pull them. I found that if I tried to pull them when tiny I never got any of the root. Round Up has come in handy, but my DLs are so close that I need to be very careful. We are surrounded by field that are not always farmed so there are an abundance of thistle seeds flying when the blooms mature. UGH!!!

Thanks Julie.. I do love that bright color from INDIAN RIPPLES.. PAULA NETTLES was one of the first introductions I ever bought straight from the Kinnebrews. I have not been disappointed. You don't see it on the auction very much but worth watching for. I am not sure how she performs up north.. any P.N. growers up there?

I really like that Indian Ripples too. I had never heard of it before. Personally I like oranges alot so I am not surprised that I like it.
