too early to fertilize?

I posted a few times last fall before my husband and I moved to a new place, but haven't posted since then because every plant I owned had to be left behind. I have started to buy more daylilies, and some have been in the ground for well over a month now, but some of them are still looking pretty unhappy. When I planted them, I mixed in a little bit of steer manure with the soil, but I was wondering if it is too soon to throw something on them again, or if I should just be patient for a while longer. My Lullaby Baby sent up 2 scapes just a couple of weeks after it was planted, but I think one of my 4 legged buck toothed friends decided to take a tase of it and so I cut back the scapes. The plant was still pretty small and I had been thinking about cutting back the scapes anyway to give the plant a chance to grow some more. Too bad that I don't think LB reblooms!
