My daylilies have just started to flower. Here are some photos, most are FFO. They're not perfect, but they're mine so I'm happy about seing their pretty little faces after a long, cold spring.

I had a Barnes and Noble 15% off on top of my member discount. Last night, I went and got a book I've seen before and wanted. It's called, "Garden Insects of North America" by Whitney Cranshaw. In it, I found the answer to my questions. I found out that grasshoppers, crickets, and katydids are in the order called, "Orthoptera". Cranshaw says that katydids are usually large grasshoppers with long antennae and thin jumping hind legs. There are different kinds. Here's a quote from the book, "Both the nymhs and adults chew leaves, rarely causing noticeable injuries." I'm still keeping an eye out, because today, a whole section of a flower was gone from the flower the katydid was in. Maybe that wasn't the culprit, though. Happy gardening and nature watching, Sue

Nice looking squirrel, you must be feeding him good :) Wonderful pic of Choral Fantasy, love that color. My Shores of Time seems to have disappeared. I remember moving it last year, it didn't bloom this year & I don't think I have a plant that didn't bloom. Still, it is apt to turn up somewhere nest year. I hope so, it is really pretty.

Your new blooms are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing back! I don't cut scapes off new plants & ALL of them have been just fine, coming back up with renewed vigour and usually more fans the next Spring. I do not ask the new ones to make seed pods, though, so I do dead head them after I've oohed and aahed over my new flowers *grin* marea

Love them Lainey, and I really need PS also, but I need SCB even more! I can see now, there's a new bed in my very near future. I'm finding so many on these posts that I am going to have to add to my garden.

Awesome Blossom is a disaster in my garden but looks good in yours. I just planted Primal Scream, love your shot of it.

I am anxiously awaiting my Awesome Blossoms blooms. I see you have columbine planted with it. Doesn't columbine make such a nice companion plant. Love all the pics.
