Absolutely inspiring!!!! I can't believe how much larger it looks with all the plantings, paths and "bones". It makes me feel like "I can do it" when I get inspired to take on a job that just seems too big. I just love everything about it. You should pat yourselves on the back for a job well done. Carol

Oh - the ladder thing. That IS awful. Plus please be careful.I used to use the tall step ladder to do the privet around the courtyard that I mentioned above. One time the ladder fell with me on it, it was like it was happening in slow motion. I stuck out my hand and my arm took the brunt of the impact. Didn't get hurt but shook me up. Yep, got the juniper hedge done this morning and altho I lay tarp down it doesn't catch all the clippings; and those juniper clippings are prickly. So I got the blo/vac out and sucked them up then decided to "sweep" the rest of the stone areas of leaves and debris. Looks nice. This old juniper hedge was the first hedge plants I put in when I began my garden. It has so much character, I love the natural shaggy way it grows but every other season I have to give its "bed head" look a trim. This time I couldn't resist leaving one stubborn upright branch near the center up front.

Sorry I haven't gotten back with an update sooner ya'll. It's been hectic. I've spent most of this week joined at the hip with our accountant. Can you say: Borrrring! Anyway, I can't take credit for any of the lattice work as Phyllis and her husband did that. Pam, glad you were able to put the fence behind you, that's a tremendous help. Has your husband started on the bridge over the creek bed yet? As Pam said, we will be planting on Wednesday morning. On the Monday morning prior to that (the 20th), Doug will be delivering another load of mulch. Nancy and I will be transporting the plants to the site and Phyllis will meet us there. We will then place the plants in the beds where we want them planted. On Wednesday morning, we will have more volunteers there (we hope!) and we will begin planting. I didn't want to leave the decisions as to placement of the plants until Wednesday morning, because it would be a miracle to be able to get 6 or 8 gardeners to agree on that, LOL!! I'm sure there will be much discussion with just the 4 of us on Monday. We were going to do the planting on Tuesday morning but that's when my high speed internet is being installed. Say it with me.......Praise God!!!! Anyway, I am going to start a new thread with the latest pics from after our last work day. Since I don't HAVE high speed internet yet, my feeble dial up will have trouble with anymore pics on this thread. Kristi

Sherry, WPW's scapes are very sturdy. I have never had it lean. The image that I post was taken in the afternoon between downpours and rain showers. I really think with the bigger flowers, it is about placement in the garden. WPW is in an island bed that receives full sun all day, so their is no reaching for the sun. I have some other bigger flowers (FLYING DOWN TO RIO, THIN MAN, LONG TALL SALLY, etc...) and they lean as they reach for the sun. I plan on moving LTS this fall. David
