Conadria
A large light greenish yellow fig. The eye is very tight and small. Average weight is 1.7 oz. Two crops. Very good fresh or dried with excellent flavor.

Home Depot, here around Philadelphia area. Mostly sell Brown Turkey, Celeste and perhaps Hardy Chicago. Yours maybe one of the three (3). I don't like purchasing from places like this because they have no control over what is received from their vendors. I did the same some 4 years ago. I purchased one of each. They all turned out to be Brown Turkey.

If, in fact you have purchase a Conadria. I think you have a pretty good fig for your area. I would recommend that you contact Encanto Farms in Southern Calif (figs4fun.com), since you are in northern California.

he's in norcal....they sell different varieties here....Home Depot actually carries reputable growers trees (like Dave Wilson and Four Winds Growers) and ones that aren't so reputable....i would have taken the 5$ fig as well...enjoy

A 3 or 4 foot tall conadria fig tree, or any other fig tree, is a real real cheap price. Take care of it and less than a dozen ripe fig will recover the price.
Rooting a cuttings or air-layering at home garden takes time and efforts. I am not sure how they can sell one 3 or 4 ft tall fig tree for $5!

If it's conadria, it's a great fig, especially in your location. Large fig with a tight eye that tastes excellent. If it's not yellow with a reddish interior, then it's not conadria.

Based on picture posted it looked like a Brown Turkey to me.

Sam you are right I checked our HD fig trees and all are Brown Turkey. I was looking for different variety because I have 4 Brown Turkey trees.

im just going to have to wait and see if its a conadria.
and if its a BT i just hope that it has good sweet fruit.

westcoastgrower, a fig tree should grow about 1 foot per year. This is what I learned from the web. If you find your fig grow less than expected. some fertilizers should be used. My fig tree grows about 7 inches so far this season.
