oh and yes, i put the leaves in their sawed off cups in a plastic bag; they don't have roots, and i don't want them drying up. i try to make sure they're not sitting in water in the bags. once things have roots on them they can go in a cup in a saucer with the rest of the AV's and orchids. i have four babies planted in a community salad bar tray with a zillion holes punched in the bottom and styrofoam packing peanuts as drainage material. they seem fairly happy. everybody's on an eastern facing windowsill with an extra 100 watt light that goes on late in the afternoon; since they're with the orchids, they also get the benefit of the fan that goes on and off three times a day. (i worry perpetually about rot. :-)

chris, I have some lemon balm if you are interested in trading. I would like either an orange mint, or a pineapple mint rooting in trade. Let me know if you would like the lemon balm or if you already have it. I too am starting a sort of mint garden to go along w/ my pepper fever! Danny
