I love those Roses! I may have to do that. What type of Salvia do you grow? The Victoria Blue grows like a weed here. The red Salvia doesn't do too much.

Thank you, I love the rose too. As for salvias, I grow Navajo, Hot Lips (both red) and Black and Blue. Once planted, they grow here forever. I have seen hummers on the Navajo this year. It is solid red, and about 8 years old. The black and blue has to be kept in check here. I've had it at least 6 years, maybe more. It acts like a mint.

Kay, this is going to be very nice. Do you have a picture of how these gardens relate to the rest of your gardens? I hope you have a chair or bench near enough to sit and watch the birds and butterflies.

This new butterfly/cottage bed is starts about 10 feet back from the back of my greenhouse. Coming back toward the greenhouse, this bed abuts what will be yet a third iris bed (Shown in this picture in the works, not yet ready for use -lasagna style in progess) {{gwi:678965}}

But from the butterfly garden bed as shown, to the right, there is a long, (reworked last fall)daylily and bulb bed. On the other side of that bed are the Japanese Maple trees, and the Chinese Snowballs.

Get on the path shown in the picture, and retrace your steps away from the butterfly/cottage bed and you will pass my greenhouse to your left.(Opposite orientation in this picture.)

When you get to the front of the greenhouse,

the first iris bed will be straight ahead but slightly left. It is about 6'X8'. To the right of this iris bed (to the left from position in this picture) and extending toward the back about five more feet is a daylily bed (with pink tulips in this picture) that also is about 6'X8' long. There is another path on the side of the daylily bed, (you can see gravel and round stepping stones) and to the left of this path, there is a long bed,shown in the next picture, {{gwi:678969}}about 12'X5' that is now planted with butterfly bushes, agastaches, coneflowers, snaps and petunias. This bed is right next to my house, starting at the back corner of it.

Continuing toward the front of the house, there is a small stoop; (you can see just a corner in the top right of this picture) it was apparently once an entry into the house, but a solid wall now, and I keep a few herbs in pots on it. To the left of the stoop, is the other small rose garden, and here, shown in the picture, across from this bed is a bed about 6'X4' with clematis, and amaryllis as well as a nice clump of rosemary.{{gwi:678972}}

The salvia bed is next,( It's shown in these picture with the blue bird bath,) but the salvia was not blooming at the time). then daylilly beds. (Daylillies line the path from the stoop to the front of the house).

The bed in the foreground of the last picture, is planted with lillies and alliums now. It is also 4'X8'.

Facing the greenhouse, on the right side you can see the spirea bushes and behind them the wisteria. There are a couple of Bradford pear trees and some clematis there as well.

{{gwi:678979}} When you go past the front of the greenhouse, then turn to the right, across from the first iris bed is the newer iris bed (it is 8'X 16'){{gwi:678980}}(same side as the compost barrel.)

on the left of the iris bed is the New Dawn rose trellis,

and on the right of this iris bed and just past it is the small rose garden, then, going forward on the path from here away from the greenhouse, are the other main daylily beds on the right and the left. Since the scapes have started, I will be posting day lily pictures soon.

There are blueberry bushes behaind the daylilies on the left, ans tomatoes are planted behind the blueberries.

Kay, I only wish I had all that much lawn left in my garden. But you have done such a terrific job. And it hasn't been that long since most of these beds were started and/or enlarged.

Thanks for the garden tour to show how the garden is laid out. It all looks terific. Believe it or not, the part that I am most envious of is the TB iris beds. I am way behind you on numbers of iris and iris sections. But I am trying to catch up. Not gonna happens as you also have been adding iris.

I have so been enjoying the pictures of your gardens this spring, especially seeing what you are doing for new additions. Then of course the iris blooming. Just spectacular! Now the daylilies start soon and you know I am looking forward to those.
