Wow Jan, Your garden is beautiful. So neat, clean, and great design. I envy your ability. Its a wonderfu gift.
My DL are blooming later this year too but that's giving me some time to enjoy them. Also, we've had some good rain this last week so I haven't made any crosses, just made pictures. That's nice for a change. My grass and weeds that I call a lawn needs mowing but it must dry out just a little. We're getting 3 or 4 small showers daily, so it's just not helping. The one thing it is helping, Burmuda grass is going crazy. I'm going to be forced to drag out the hoe again.

OK, time to pick your brain -- what's the pink flower in the first pic, top right?

LOL...OK Chris, are you talking about the pink dl or the other pink flower across the walkway? The dl is For A King and the little pink flower on the other side of the walk is a burgundy leaf pink begonia. I planted begonias in that bed 3 years ago, and they've come back each year since. :)

Oops, I see "flower" can be a bit confusing! I was talking about the pink daylily in the first pic. I looked at the photo on Tinker's, and yours sure looks better!

They are looking so nice! I wish mine looked as pretty and weed-free as yours. It looks like your daylilies have weathered last year's drought pretty well. Mine came back with lush foliage, but there's no branching to speak of and most bud counts are below 10 again.

Chris...For A King is one of my favorite dl's. It's always so pretty.

In your second pic what is the peach dl with the dark eyezone next to the angel statue? Its very eye catching. Your gardens are gorgeous! How do you keep all the weeds out of them. I always imagined you had a field with rows of Daylilies like a farm or something LOL!! Mabey its because you have so darn many of them! Its nice to see what your yard really looks like. And all your flowers look so happy! Gee, I hope we hit the lottery soon, so I can buy a house with a BIG yard! I need it so badly!!! -Jessica

Jan, You are correct when you say pics can not show your garden as good as in person. Now that I have seen them in person I can place the beds in my mind. I bet it is so pretty right now.

Jessica, the dl you asked about is Unseen Angels. It's not really peach, but appears more so from that distance. It's a beautiful dl.

Sayhellonow...I think you are referring to Doris Jean. It's almost in the center of the bed, correct? The large lavender pink to it's left and below is Absolute Treasure.

Your beds look awesome!! I cannot tell you how I envy that much space. You have really made the most of yours!

I will be visiting family in Sylacauga the first week in July. Are your gardens private or commercial? You think there will still be a good many flowers at that time?

I am looking forward to traveling to several DL farms around my area both this and next weekend. I promise to post a lot of good pics! (Of course, they will be in the Gallery--LOL).

I sure did miss this earlier this year. It is just glorious. Exactly what I like to see the big picture of all the garden beds. You have such a lovely, lovely garden. I am just loving all those daylily beds and all that room you have.

May I ask how you edge your gardens? Do you have an electric edger? Please don't tell me you do it all by hand with a shovel.

LOL, thanks bunches Rita...and Julie, up until last year, I did edge them all by hand with a manual edger, but my DH bought me a gas powered edger that makes the job so much easier and now I can do them all in about an hour. It used to take me a few days to get it all done.

Wow, Jan, I can understand where a gas powered edger would save you tremendous amounts of time. I've been thinking of investing in one myself. A nice edging makes a bed look professionally tailored.

We are still working on our new beds and stone wall but I know next year the front gardens are going to look great with all the new plantings. Already making plans for the back to add a pergola and more garden beds with my "four seasons" themed garden. Ahhh, the work is never done.

Pat...to answer your question, I have 3 acres.

njmomma....the large yellow dl in the photo you asked about is Caribbean Golden Galleon. Here's a close up photo of it for you. It's a very large bloom and holds up well in my hot AL weather. :)

Well, I am not new on the forum but I totally missed this first time around. Glad I spotted it now though because your garden is too wonderful to miss out on.
