Earlier Fig Tree Pics and Winter Pic

Well here are pictures taken this past season of figs tree's on patio and winter picture without fig tree's on patio, darn if it did not start to snow again after i shoveled a little path for the dogs as i took pictures.

It's great looking at the summer pictures. REminds me that it isn't ALWAYS winter. Here in the NW it's currently foggy and wet, but very tolelrable otherwise. I hope that your trees make it though the winter. Does your garage have an outlet? Maybe you cut put a lightbulb or heater near them (with fire safety precautions of course).

first.. figure out how to post upright.. and if you did.. say so.. and i will send it to GW.. i wish they would fix this issue .... next.. my z5 ground is still frozen in spots ..... way to early to come to any conclusions on death.. give it .. AT LEAST.. another month ... toronados St L z6 .. may as well be mars.. lol ... though the zone is close.. its how far south he is ..... his min winter temp is close to us.. but spring comes much earlier for them ... if their soil freezes at all .... redbud flowers early.. but leaf out a few weeks later ... way to early to tell... and.. we dont plant leafed out trees in SUMMER .... but we will teach you that in the other post.. and if it was a late summer bargain .. well.. most arent.. a bargain .... if this is a warranty issue.. you didnt state such ... i am waiting for a reply on the other post... lol ken

I think it looks like more of a disease but I'm really perplexed. The tree has an orange tint to it and the leaves have yet to fall. When we uncovered it, there were billions of ants covering it, it has green inside and 4-5 shoots at the base. But what is this odd "rash" as I call it.

Hi goodground I don't see any fig embryos on the branches yet but then I don't have the sharpest eyesight. Anyway the embryos should be appearing in zne 5 within a few weeks. May has generally been a cooler cloudy month. I hope June will become warmer and push fig embyos so we shall have enough time for ripening.

Kalymnos, there between 4 to 6 seasons old depending on which one. Thanks for compliment i have seen others tree's on forum here that look great as well.
Daniel, i never worried about garage temps so much until i bought the darn thermometer this year and started looking at it!
Course this year is one of the colder and snowier years as well, i dont think they have gone thru this type of cold before though, they say now as it keeps changiong tongiht will get in the outlying area's (me) possibly as cold as 21 below so the garage temps might dip from the current 9 above zero. There to scattered in garage for any light bulbs though and a heater for me is not an option i think though maybe a little tip dieback if anything at all hopefully i shall see in future the tip colors if they turn dark almost black.

Martin,

Somewhere I read that dessication from the wind is also a factor in dieback, and since yours are out of the wind, that should help. If it turns out that you lose some, there are lots of people, including me, who can provide cuttings to get started again!

thats so true about the wind i also have heard. Around here theres a lot of wind, i think it would take more than a few days to kill the trees in my garage as there my most mature ones gosh i would hate to have to start those again, thanks for the kind offer of just in case.
