new ones and a couple repeats

I was shocked when I went out today and seendaylilies open everywhere.What a pretty sight, to me.anyway,I want to share them with you.this first one is huge.I wasn't expecting a bloom so big and pretty.

This is the rose I got a few days ago to replace one I lost a couple years ago. The daughter is still fussing about it, saying I am not able to take care of roses no more.But, I potted it and didnt plant it in the ground,so she says well, its not as bad then.

my little jungle with pot of petunias in the middle.Got everything in this little space.daylilies, lilies ,zinnias,a few others i cant think of at the minute

hope you injoy and its not too long, I was having a problem with photobucket, as soon as I would get one photo, it would freeze up and I have to start over to get another, then about the last 4 or 5 photosd it started working so I was going as fast as I could go before it froze up again and quit working.

Yep, it is the season, Jean. Your blooms are lovely. I esaopecially like Mississippi Man.

You are going to have lots of zinnias with all those seedlings! And that Rose is lovely. But the daylilies are definatly the stars of the garden now. All those stunning blooms. I don't know which I like better as they are all so lovely.

A friend of mine "kills" a new gardenia every year. It's our personal joke. They just don't do well for her - in ground or in pots - doesn't matter. I gave up trying a long time ago. What a shame. It's probably one of my favorite scents. Lucky you....SDC, with all those scapes and lovely pastel color is my favorite daylily picture of this group....Maryl

Very nice Avedon. I like the first one of the unknown seedling. Nice eye on it. Your blooms are opening perfectly and that clump of Siloam Double Classic is so pretty. Doubles remind me of peonies. Keep posting and I see you have another thread of the lilies so I'll go check that one out. Julia

Morning Jan.....I'm glad you enjoy the pic's, Thanks! Starman's Quest bloom was only about 5 1/2 inches..but it was it's first bloom and being a potted newbie, I guess that is to be expected. I think it is supposed to be about 7 inches, if I remember correctly. It is kinda nice for a first bloom, I think..:) Hi GG...LOL Thanks for your kind comment about my pic's...:) Of course with the new camera I will have to learn how to use it...and It would have helped if I had ordered the Memory card with it...LOL Dumb move on my part...I will get one today...and try it out....I can't wait...It will have twice the Mega Pixels and much better optics then the old camera....so it will be Fun! We hope to start walking to the Mailbox next week...the blooms are far behind schedule this year...everything seems to be about 2-3 weeks behind normal...It won't be long though...I hope. Rick

Looks like the season is really cranking up for you. Love everything, but you have Northern Nocturne which I would love to get, and of course, Malaysian Marketplace. London Calling is a nice one, too. Avedon

wow. kay,I love Mississippi man, too,and its huge.
RITA, last year,I had a lot of zinnias, too,and I had bouquets in the house every day, to look at.Loved them.I am loving all the daylilies blooming now.after I took the pictures and went back out later,I had missed Scarlet orbit that had another bloom,and it was facing the house, too.Its also huge bloom.Dont you have any scaped yet on your daylilies?
AVEDON; I took several pictures of malaysian Marketplace. but that one is the only one was any good. The sun was coming up, bright and hot too. and I couldnt see what i was doing. I didnt have the blooms centered in the little window. maybe I will have better luck with the next bloom.There was 7 blooms on LONDON CALLING today and every one looking perfect.but, my photos was not perfect.I didn't beat the sun this morning.

Those photos look pretty good to me!

Did you put down new zinnia seeds, or do they come back from last year's plants?

What a lot of lovely daylilies you have blooming, I like them all! Malaysian Mktplace always catches my eye, but it has lots of competition from the others. Mississippi Man has buds here, but will be a while before I see blooms. Hope mine looks as good as yours! I had been wondering when my zinnias would come up, don't see any seedlings yet. I guess I should be waiting for a couple of weeks yet, judging by yours.
I got my first real daylily bloom yesterday, but didn't get out for a picture. It was Little Audrey, & today I got the first bloom from Stella d'oro. I think I'll start seeing a few more blooms this week.

NANCY: Thank you for the nice comments, if you have stells blooming, shouldnt be much longer now till you have daylilies blooming and can have photos to share, too.

I really enjoyed seeing these! Octoberfest is my favorite, with Mississippi Man and Northern Nocturne close behind.

My goodness Jean you sure have a lovely bunch of blooms even though I've tried I can't pick a favorite they are all lovely. I don't know but I think you still do a wonderful job with your roses.
