In terms of other sensations, some people like chimes which are on sale everywhere now. Chimes tend to drive me crazy but some people love them. Also, I'm not sure how natural you want to be but another idea might be a fountain. They come in all varieties from complex underground piping systems to some simple (but not "natural") plug in varieties. Someone smarter than me probably knows how to build one with no electriciy. I bought a fountain at Lowe's made of fake rocks for around $200.00. It was so easy to lift, even I could do it and easy to set up if you have an outside plug. You need to be a little creative to hide the wire but you can just bury it yourself. It also can stay out all year in New England (don't need to store inside in the winter). I was a little skeptical how the fake rocks would look but was assured I could return it. I put it in the patio area near a wall made of real rocks and it blends in just fine. Everyone who sees and hears it loves it (unlike chimes). I love the sound of running water and for me, it would be something for a meditation garden area. Just my two cents.

Littlesparroz, do you have the N. sylvestris or the N. alata? I've been looking around here for the alata but can't find it anymore. Seems like everyone is now carrying sylvestris or the shorter versions of alata that don't seem to be as fragrant. - Tom

Aegis, the last time I was at Lowes, I was buying plants for the spring/summer - tomatoes, petunias for the front yard, etc. I bought african violet soil at that time also. Then the emphasis was on spring and summer, especially in mid-May. Next time I go, however, I will look at their indoor plants. I know that several grocery store chains do have african violets, but I resist the urge to buy them. I grew african violets some time ago, but with having children, I gave it up at that time. The kids now are independent. I saw that my mother's african violets were suffering, with long neck, and such, so I took them away. Then I ordered some from Bloomlovers, and now I am hooked again. I will again order from Bloomlovers in the spring, as it is colder in Quebec than here in southern Ontario. Thanks for the advice on where to buy plants. Yolanda
