A friend (Mulchy) gave me some large, double orange poppies and I know they are going to be great. (I've seen them in her garden.)

I bought some new clematis, and they always give me a thrill. I also moved around a lot of clematis and am looking forward to seeing them in their new homes.

I also bought a "ace of hearts" rhubarb for my redbed. It's leaves are just poking out of the ground, but I think the bold foliage will be great in that bed.

Looking forward to our Queen Crepe Myrtle blooming again. She has buds forming on her now that are glistening with nectar. Roses are always a treat when they bloom as are the different jasmines, and for me anything else that blooms and grows is what I look forward to seeing.

Looking forward to seeing what iris bloom this year after digging them all and dividing and then replanting.........No doubt I will be moving some because of clashing colors.

Corydalis elata (blue flowered). After waiting several years, I finally found it last year on a trip to Seattle. It bloomed last year, but they were not as bright colored as I had expected. The buds on the plant were forced, so I am hoping that by producing them naturally this year the blue will be more intense.

Gldno1, I admire your dedication (and energy)! I am letting my irises bloom this year (or not), but then will have to dig and divide. It's not so much that they're crowded; it's that grass and speedwell are choking them. I'm not looking forward to this.......and I'm glad clashing colors have never been an issue with me. :-)

I planted four Buck roses last year: Quietness, Aunt Honey, Earth Song, and Prairie Sunrise. I'm delighted with the way they came through the winter. Two others that were new last year (not Bucks)--Strike it Rich and Sunsprite--suffered more damage but are still with us.

I usually avoid hybrid teas, but fell in love with Abbaye de Cluny two years ago. It died down to the ground last year, but came back to produce those sumptuous blooms. Ditto this year, although I won't see the blooms till June.

It's always exciting to see perennials of all kinds come back. They're like old friends.

I have a big clump of it right out by the street. I think it's going to be gorgeous.

Lilies. New lilies planted in the fall and old lilies, too.
Some are in bud -- there's been one blossom --
and some are just now deciding to come out of the ground.

Cosmos sulphureus and Salvia coccinea seeded around in the beds. Blooms They are mainstay annuals for me. They bloom, reseed and bloom again in one season.
