Newbie to Bonsai, Growing from seed question

Hello,

I am really wanting to get into Bonsai. I have a bonsai seed pack of conifers. The seeds are mixed so no way for me to tell which is which at this point. It says the mixture is "of various species of the Pinus, Cupressus, Abies, and Chamaecyparis"

When reading the packet it says to sow seeds in a small amount of seed starting mix. Cover with a small amount of seed starting mix. Then place in the fridge for 4-6 weeks. After this time period you can move the seeds to an area of 59-68 degrees f. Then it could take up to a year for them to germinate. Is this correct?

Once they sprout what is the care for them? Are conifers supposed to be kept outside all year round?

Any information you can give me in the process of getting the seed sown and through the first year would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!
