You are right Rita. I ordered a small number of daylily fans, then a few years ago I decided that ordering more was best. I found a few vendors that sell double fans, so when you buy 4 double fans it starts right off as a nice clump!

SO?? End the suspense Rita!... tell us what varieties you bought! :D

Had to choose something. Couldn't buy them all LOL! And daylily fans are huge compaired to fans of Siberian Iris. Especially small are the fans of dips rather than tets and Joe Pie Weeds intros are all dips.

Ah, Kay, I know you have room to dig up more grass. So you could always fit some in. Besides Joe Pie Weeds (link above) another great place to get Siberian Iris is Ensata Gardens. I have an order of Sibs comeing from them should be first week of May.

Here is what one of the plants looked like as it came out of the box. The roots on Sibs need to be kept moist in transit so they are usually wrapped in wet paper towels and then stuck in baggies.

Here is a picture of one of last years planted siberian mini clumplets growing. It might give you all a hint as to why I ordered double orders on everything this year. It also shows how slender the folliage is. Its right next to some daffoldils and the folliage is thinner than that on the daffs. That is some daylily folliage just sneeking into the picture.

I planted them all today after their overnight soak. Five I potted up and one of those was a bonus plant. The place they are going to be planted is a new garden area and not ready yet. The rest went in ground were they are going to be growing.
