Very beautiful. I think my favs are: Mildred Mitchell, Forsyth Frostbound, and Pink Rocks. They are all gorgeous though.

Thanks for the replies. Im not sure what to make of the figs slow progress, by all accounts they love hot weather, and even if they didn’t the last 2 weeks have been fairly mild in comparison to the first two weeks with temperatures sitting between 25-30oC (77-86F), only getting above 30 once, which should be fairly ideal. Fertilising may be an issue, although they have been getting their half strength solution quite regularly, sometimes 2x a week. If it isn’t going to hurt them I can give them a full strength measure at their next watering and see if that kicks them into action. If I could make a guess, I would say it comes down to water, since the plants wilted whilst the soil feels damp to touch (at least in the top few cms) I would say there is possibly patches of dry mix or, as I left some of the original soil mix around the root ball, this may have dried out, or isn’t staying wet. I have been silly and haven’t once checked with a dowel or anything, but believe the soil is probably quite wet now as last week we had a few days solid rain in a row. If this theory is correct then hopefully it should become evident quite quickly as the plants will start putting out growth again (I hope). This morning, despite being watered last on Saturday, all my pots feel wet, almost soaked, right on the top. After work I will stick a skewer in and see if this is the case through the whole mix. My other thoughts were that I had been over fertilising and the plants could not take up water, but I just don’t know that a high enough level of salts could have built up in such a small amount of time, especially since at each watering I let a fair bit of water flow out the pots. @shazaam I am fertilising only with the regular miracle grow for all plants, with some added vinegar and Epson salts for the blueberries. I am not sure what N source is used, but will check and see if it ammonia or nitrate based. I have been searching for a soluble acid loving formula, but although it is on their website I haven’t been able to locate in stores. Perhaps if it is nitrate based I will see if I can find any ammonia based product somewhere. I added some slow release acid loving Osmocote when mixing, which is likely to have an ammonia base, but I am sure someone stocks a soluble somewhere in my city…

Cindy: That thermometer has been here for years sitting on my porch. No place to hang it. Then the pergola went up and I thought " why not out here"? It has a clock so easy to check what time it is when working in the back gardens. mantis: All American Girl is registered at 5.5 I believe, but it is blooming smaller so far. It is new here so I don't expect the full bloom size yet. Incendiary is registered at almost 6 but I think it is a small bloom 4.5 to 5 and its been here for a couple of years. Always been this size to me. Now I will have to take a tape measure with me this morning and measure them both but I would say just from viewing that they are similiar in size at this point. Julia

Those are beautiful. It appears lilies can withstand the heat better than we can. Normally I don't like orange lilies (because of the ubiquitous ditch lilies all over the place here), but I'll make an exception for that one! Love the purple and just drove by a lady's house w/front yard chocked full of perennials, spotted what I thought was an unusual daylily but didn't want to get out of the car there, looked kind of like your pinkish one. Are you the one I talked to last year about Brave Heart? I bought some on ebay but never got them planted, too tired by then. Whew, hit a key and almost lost this. I'm losing it lol. I'll look forward to more of your photos. I ordered just a few iris from Wild's and as an afterthought, asked about Brave Heart. She said it was on the list, took my order for 3 and said they'd call if it was not available. It's not in their catalog or online one this year. So I'll feel extremely fortunate if it comes, still don't know where to put them. Aren't they a little shorter than most? Your colors were so intense on that. There is another photo on the web, and it's raspberry but not as pretty as yours. Is yours in part shade or shaded by other plants? Soil and zone could make a dif, too, also the way cameras capture colors, time of day, and transmitted through umpteen servers before it shows up on my monitor, which could be off a bit, never calibrated it like you're supposed to. You did well with the photos standing in that heat. Maybe you have the ac on, and it's almost worse going out in the heat than not running it sometimes. Right now I'm using my commercial fans but will probably have to turn on the ac soon. It's really humid because of all the rain we've had which makes it feel hotter, but cooled down nicely now. Sometimes I envy people who live in the south that they can grow things we can't. But then I think of the summer heat there, and it gets just as bad here but not prolonged like for you.

They are all beautiful, but I don't think there is anything wrong with the form of Mildred Mitchell at all. LOL Sorry I have to defend Mildred, she is my absolute favorite! My pic actually looks more like your first bloom.

Jessica - I like MM too! But some of her blooms are scraggly... not the one I posted above, it is in perfect form. Maybe I just gotta let her settle in more before she is consistent. CYD just has dimensions that are more pleasing to my eye... but you can bet your sweet bippy that if you tried to take MM out of my yard, I'd be chasing you down the street with my shovel! :o)

Besides, is it just me, or will Mildred Mitchell pollinate anything? I could set pods on a fence post.

I went to Daylily manor's website, and they have some great deals! They even have peppermint pinwheel, which ive been dying to have, but its still $50. But that is the cheapest ive ever seen a double fan of that one sell for. I had to save the website under my favorites list LOL!
That pic was a FFO on a new plant last year, Mildred was the only plant that was new to me that bloomed perfectly, and rebloomed the first year. So far im pretty impressed. I did cross her with some other flowers, but I just dab, and don't label any of the pods, so some of my seedlings may be her babies! At least I hope so. This is my first time trying to bloom my own crosses. I just have all my seedlings planted in a huge pot, and we will see what comes out of them. Im not real serious about it, just playing around to see what I can come up with. Who knows, they may all turn out ugly! Im just keeping my fingers crossed that some of them actually bloom this year. I planted them last summer, so I don't know we'll see! -Jessica

Wow, wow, and wow!!!!! So many beauties, so little money!!!:) I do have MM which gave me her 1st bloom today, FFB which hasn't bloomed for me as yet and LF which is blooming as I type.

Gorgeous pictures. What are teeth? I keep trying to figure that out. Create your Dream is gorgeous. The colors look more vibrant than the Margaret Mitchell you show, but she is no slouch. Love the last one, with it's lavendar and contrasting eyezone. Pink rocks certainly rocks! As usual your photos a area a feast for the eyes.
