The discusion about crimson clover in another thread got me thinking and remembing some of the seeds I used to grow each spring but haven't done for afew years now as the garden has gotten more showey. Actually crimson clover is really very beautiful.

So the other day I planted space that used to be varios clovers in crimson clover. Today I planted both Purple Vetch and Hairey Vetch in two windowbox type planters. I have two small spots picked out for the Buckwheat but an going to wait until it warms up some before I sow it. Buckwheat loves warm weather.

Now these are not really cottage garden flowers. In fact they are all sold as what is know as cover crops. They do all attract bees. But I really like them all.
