I moved all of mine into the shade last fall because they could not take the heat here. We'll see how they do.

I did an endo over a pelargonium this winter and landed on Inner Destiny. I thought of Jean's broken wrist as I went down. I came out ok, but I don't know about the daylily.

Eskimo Kisses was not moved, and it got two scapes, but they only got about three inches tall before one bloomed, so I cut them off.

I'm really looking forward to seeing all of your glorious photos this spring.

Thanks. I think the daylilies should look better than ever. I sure hope so as I went thru lots of trouble to move most of them last year. As for pictures, you all know that I take lots and lots of them and post many of them.

Golly Renee,I am glad you didn't break your wrist like I did.I wouldn't wish that on any one.I still have a little trouble with mine,even if it is healed now.A lady in Walmart that had broken her hip told me just because its healed, don't think I am through with any pain from it.I told her no,I don't think that,as its still bothering me from time to time.She says shes a walking barometer now,and knows just when the weather is going to change.I told her I been like that for years before breaking the wrist.I have bad arthuritis that does the same thing.

More daylilies moved today. I moved VELVET EYES from the front yard terrace garden because I am going to redo that little section. Yesterday I had transplanted two sedum from the same general area I moved the daylily out of today. Then I also planted the three clumps that I had taken out of an area in another part of the front yard because I was extending a section of rows of early and late bloomers. They were in the way.

I put the four daylily clumps on the slope by my driveway were I had started a daylily garden last year. I did that last year by transplanting also. Sure was easier to do it now than it was digging out there last August in the high 90s with that terrible humidity.

Sounds like you're well on the way to another great year of bloom, Rita. Weather has really warmed up here in Nova Scotia. I can start lifting,moving stuff this week. Look forward to more of your great pics. cheers, lloyd

I am at it again today. I staked out and laid out a row of 14 for late bloomers and moved them today. This is upstairs and all the ones moved so far are the Hibard intros of lates and very lates that I planted in the fall of 2008. I had only afew fans of each then some were one fan when planted. All were tiny fans. Today when I am moving them, most were clumps. Can't believe how well they are doing and multiplying.

I had planned the very edge of the back of my newly made gardenbed in the backyard to be late and extra late. It's the back of the garden from this side when viewed from the house and patio. That is the way I look at the garden mostly. But it is an island bed, so I can walk around it to the back and look at the row of daylilies that way. Then it's the front row LOL!

I had to go with moving these as they were at the edge of the daylily bed at the far left end. Thats were I have the Korth intros and I had the snapdragons in between last year. Had to move some if I wanted to be able to lay out the rest of the garden bed space and still have paths.

So after being done I rewarded myself with ice cream and going to order Chinese takeout for dinner. Rewarding myself already for work done, ha, ha. I still have to go out and water all the daylilies I moved and then I will order dinner.

I foggured out when I went out to water that I moved 16 daylilies, not 14. I put two in the serviceberry garden and forgot to count them.

I'll be moving a few I had placed along the top of the front walk. They seem to get tread on by the dogs (and hubby). I'll put some dianthus in or something small and mounding. And I have a couple that I need to move closer to the house so they have more shelter in the winter. Dad wants me to take in his True Blue Heart for that reason. His beds are too far from shelter and it isn't very happy.

I moved 8 more daylilies this afternoon once I finially got going and working in the garden.

I have 5 more daylilies to move out of one of the front yard beds were I just had too many rows. Moved half the row last fall but ran out of steam to work and time to do it. Then I have about three more from another redone bed and then I should be finished with the daylily moving.

My Goodness Rita, you are just a workaholic..We had storms last night, so all of mine got watered.Today was Doctor day again.A new heart Dr that I was assigned to about 4 or 5 months ago.My daughter couldn't wait to tell him I stopped taking the Zocor,and won't take it again, so he had to ask all about that, why did I quit it,etc, and I told him if I had not quit when I did,I would be totally disabled today,and I will not take it again.Well, he just about begged me to try another one called Crestor, says its more tolerable.So I told him I am willing to give it a try in a very low dose, but,if I have troubles with it too, then I will stop it also.So he gave me a 6 week supply of it in samples.We shall see.

I moved four daylilies today and still have more to do. I had to remove the last row of the three rows in put in that big planterbox bed I have in my front yard. I put two rows of daylilies along the front and one in back That was last spring. By fall I could see that the row along the back wasn't going to work out. Made it too narrow for walking up there and they were only first year plants. So I moved half the row last fall then ran out of time. So I figgured I would move the rest this spring. Besides last fall I had no idea were I could actually move them too!

I am planning on putting some annuals in there for summer long color. Also in the fall I plan to plant bulbs in there, daffodils and tulips.

I got a later start on the daylily project as I was cleaning out all my ponds first. I put the filter and pump in the big stocktank pond and stated running that. The water was the dirtiest I have ever had it but I just scooped all the leaves and junk that fell in overwinter as best I could and started the pump and filter. I had bought a new filter the other day so I could do this. Tomorrow I will change the filter again as it should have sucked up much of the mess by then. I do so love that biggest pond I put in afew falls ago. Another one of my projects but it's one of my favorites.

I also planted afew lily bulbs and an going out now to plant some more.

Five daylilies moved today. I am on a roll. I have been moving daylilies out of "bad spots" and all five of those were in that catagory. Too close to shrubs and things that crowd them too much after they started growing. So they have a better home now.

After I moved the daylilies I planted the little Sedum plants that I got the other day. So thats done now. No more sedum to plant or anymore sedum coming. I had to weed the little garden were I planted them and the weeding took longer than the planting :-((

I still have one or two daylilies to move but the moving is almost all done.

I nominate Rita for president, she has the energy to do the job!!And she doesn't have to fly all over the world to get it done either. Just stays home and works.
Rita, you must be related to my Aunt, it made me tired to even read one of her letters, she was a fireball like you. Me, when I get something in the ground, it stays there.I did plant a whole new bed last fall, and all made it through the winter but one. Even the evergreens!!

Ha, I have no time to run the country, too busy running my little garden kingdom here LOL :-))

I like to change things until I get them perfect. Of course just because I think they are finially great, doesn't mean everyone agrees. Once they are perfect, I leave them alone. So hopefully, I have less to change around each year. At least thats the theory.

I was looking at early summer garden pictures earlier this morning and was surprised at how much I have changed or added even since then. And it's not even one year yet.
