Kate, You are welcome to my corydalis ophiocarpa which just finished blooming, I would like to have claytonia virginica as you say claytonia seed does not tolerate dry storage, I tried them from commerical seed and had no results. Your geraniums Confetti and Jester Jacket germinated very nicely and am having great display of leaves. Ellen

I bought and planted a mrs bradshaw last year and was really chuffed when in April this year it bloomed its first flower. It was on top of a really tall stem (compared to leaves) so i was excitingly waiting for other flowers from mrs bradshaw. 2 weeks later the same stem grew another flower so i had 2 little bright red flowers. And thats it! No more flowers- just the 2! I deadheaded the flowers and cut the stem at the next set of leaves. I hoping that next year it will give me more than 2 single blooms! But as the flowering stem was tall maybe i should have cut it down more? Im not sure and im looking forward to what others say about this topic.

Hi - thanks so much for your post. I never knew there were so many kinds of Geum! I got a few divisions at a local plant sale. They were just labeled "Geum" so I don't know what kind they are. They have orange flowers - about 2 feet tall - in the early summer. Now, in late August, they have dried seed heads. I didn't deadhead because I leave the seeds for the birds. I was told these were native to my NY area so I assumed native birds would enjoy the seeds. Now I would like to harvest some seeds to try to winter sow. I can't tell if there are any seeds left! Nothing looks like an obvious seed - just a lot of chaff. Can you describe the seed or post a photo so I know what I'm looking for? Thanks so much.
