I hope it all survived the winter!

I did a quick and muddy survey of my yard today. In the back where i started my big garden project, so many things are sitting in water! I planted things in a kinda mound, so i hope they are ok, and not drowning. My clethra which i really loved is in it. My bunch of new roses are in puddles, and so are my beautiful peegee hydrangeas. I know things look grim right now, and they may be just fine. I dont know what i could have done to prevent it, thats why i planted in mounds. I think ill be investing in garden soil to raise my plants a bit. Any reassurance? Suggestions?

I am not feeling as excited as i was before i went outside! Hurry summer, i need to know the damage!
