Hello, I would really like to trade for lotus seeds or tubers if anyone had some they would like to share. I am in zone 5 so something winter hardy to this zone (if known, but I am willing to test any unknown hybrids too). White, red, pinks, etc would be my top choices and yellow my last, but I would be willing to try anything. I have lots of Oodham's Devils Claw seeds(Proboscidea parviflora)and Kentucky coffee tree seeds and some smaller amounts of blackberry lily and perennial sweet pea seeds to trade. For plants/tubers I have herbs such as lemon and regular thyme, oregano, chives,hyssop, horehound, lemon balm as well a various un-named bearded iris. Just let me know if you are interested in trading or if nothing I have interests you buy you would be very generous to share seeds for postage please let me know. Thanks, ~Evin

Water lilies need to be divided. I have never know anyone who harvested seeds from them. Many plants that you normally plant in the ground are excellent pond plants. Many ornamental grasses grow beautifully in the pond, such as zebra grass. Iris, (not bearded iris) such as swamp iris or Louisianan iris grow like weeds, as do Elephant ears, Canna, horse tail (equisetum), and papyrus. Just pot them up, using heavy clay soil, if possible; Line your pot with screen or coffee filters if they have holes in them. Top the soil with small rocks or gravel so that your soil won't float away. Sink the pots in the pond and watch them grow! Good Luck! Janie

I'm looking for a lotus tuber for blooming in my 100 gallon pre-formed.I have some seeds for growing out this year,but would like a tuber for blooming this year in my new bed. I can offer some LA purple iris yellow iris frogs bit that grassy stuff that gets a smallish yellow bloom then a roundish brown seed thinggy. white hardy lillies I do have tarro,but will be easier to safely find end of april& would be longer to find the lizzards tail. I also have tall cat tails but are very crammed.the seed would be easier.(One lone stalk filled a 5 gallon bucket in a year.I've gave up on busting the bucket.cracked will do.)
