Post-freeze lemon tree damage

bakerchic

I just moved into a house that had been empty for several months. I watered a citrus tree (I don't know what kind it is) and it bloomed and started producing fruit. When the fruit was about the size of a pea, we had two nights of freeze, and being a newbie to the country, I didn't protect the tree. All the fruit is shriveled and black, but the leaves look good and it's obviously not dead. But will it produce new fruit in place of the ones that froze? Or do I have to wait for a whole year?
