A living fence

I'm looking for a shrub, lots of them actually, that I can use to create a living fence. I need something that will grow 6-8' tall and will be evergreen. In the summer, the area gets about 6 hours of direct sunlight. In the winter, it gets dappled sunlight all day. Fast growing and easy to prune into a solid wall of green would be nice.

I had considered privet, but there's already so much of it here in the woods, I don't want to use an invasive plant like that. I had considered fragrant tea olive, but they grow SO SLOW. I have wintersown cherry laurel seeds, but again, I think it's too invasive to plant that many of them.

Something that's easy to propagate would be nice too.
