It's 75 today. Is spring here to stay?

It is just beautiful down south today. I wish I could go out and start gardening but I have to work for a living. Maybe spring is here to stay. I sure hope so.

Sending good garden-weather-wishes to all you warmer weather folks. Sometimes I think it's easier to deal with winter when you have to look at a foot of snow on the ground, then when you have the bare earth calling to you. Of course I'm jealous as can be of you all!!!

We sure weren't! I know I live in Upstate Ny, but it doesn't prevent me getting aggravated about the weather in the Spring. I'm itching to plant out things I've started indoors and I can't, because I know anything is game at this point. It is a nice day today. I'm trying to just keep things in order, get ready to recieve a load of dirt and manure, and just kinda bide my time. I hope it doesn't get THAT cold again until the Fall.

Snow in April can't last, even in southeastern Michigan--the air and earth are warming, the number of daylight hours is getting longer every day and we're past the middle of April. The last frost is only a few weeks away. Anything that's up now can take whatever bad jokes Mother Nature throws at it (including snow), especially winter sown plants--they're tough as nails. It's been a very cold spring here in CT as well--I still need layers to work outside clearing winter's debris from the flowerbeds. Everything I grew last year via WS is up again: turtlehead, lupine, rudbeckia, agastache, penstemon, Siberian iris, daylily, ladybells, painted daisy, blackberry lily, butterfly bush, delphinium, Echinacea, Maltese cross, blanket flower, Montauk daisy, globeflower and more. My WS sprouts are waving at your WS sprouts and urging them to hang tough until this white stuff melts away.

I've not ever had a problem with the fabric, and have yet to have an "off" color. The qality is excellent, and on my monitor they tend to run pretty true to what I see. They do have sales constantly, don't get me wrong, I just wanted to share this one since it's for everything verses just some of them. But to be clear...they always offer a lower price than what they show as retail (their retail is pretty close to what I see at our only local shop that carries this quality). ANd they most often have many items on sale, sometimes amazing prices (I've purchased a lot of linens and silks at less than ten bucks a yard...nice nice quality stuff), but if you're looking for something specific it's nice to catch it on sale...that's the only reason I shared.

I do like my yellows and your possible Buttered Popcorn is no exception. Song of Praise is a nice pinky lavender that I like too. Rain supposidly on it's way for Wednesday, so was very humid here too. Not looking forward to our usual hot/humid summers...........Maryl

Naw, we have at least one more good cold spell to go here. How else will all the fruit blossoms freeze otherwise?

81 here today. Had a good day gardening and watched ds play baseball. Signs of spring for sure.

I saw a mesquite tree leafing out today. Folk lore is that tere will not be another killing freeze after they leaf out.

I did get my day in the graden. Mostly fighting a nesty weed trying to take over. Moving some rocks. Had to dig some perrinials so I could cover beds with cardboard and mulch. Hope it stays warm enough for them to survive in pots.

Kathy, That's a promising sign when the Mesquites start to leaf out. I'll have to keep my eyes open for signs of Mesquite buds around here.

Daffs are up and blooming, and I've spotted some Forsythia in full bloom, too. I spent part of yesterday cleaning out garden beds and discovering emerging perennials.

Since I have removed some old mulch, it had BETTER stay warm. :-)
