Joan Derifield and Siamese Royalty

Can someone who has seen both of these daylilies tell me how they are different? One is described on the AHS website as wine red, the other as rose-violet. Some of the photos of them look very much alike! Thanks for your input, fellow daylily lovers!!!

    I've grown both flowers and the colors are very similar. In my climate, however, Joan Derifield is a much superior performer. JD is a prolific bloomer and its flowers are bigger than those of SR. JD has much sturdier scapes and great branching. As with many Munsons here, I didn't get many blooms from SR. I'm not sure I even grow it anymore.

    Joan Derifield is definitely the superior plant performance wise.
