The navel will have the biggest petiole wings (the little flaps at the base of the leaf, below the main blade. The other two barely have any wing on their petioles.

On average, Meyer will have larger leaves than Rangpur, assumning the trees are at the same degree of health. Meyer leaves are approximately the same size as navel leaves; Rangpur leaves are smaller.

meyer lemon go from green to yellow and then if left for a long time will turn more orange. I assume the one with orange fruit is the naval that has smaller than normal fruit.

Also if you smash up a leaf in your hands the meyer will smell like a lemon. Neither my naval or mandarin trees leaves smell like orange, more like just a leaf. And all my limes smell like lime.

Thanks guys. I still am not sure that I have them sorted out--but maybe I have two limes (perhaps one was mislabeled when I bought it?) The one with the orange fruit has leaves about twice the size of the others, and the scent (which is very faint to me) may be lemony, and when I taste the leaf, it is rather more orange peel than lemon--the scent of the darker green, glossier and smaller leaves of the other trees is different but not distinctly lime-y to my nose. There really is no difference in the petiole wings other than proportional difference with the size of the leaves--so the larger leaves have proportionally larger wings, maybe that is what you are describing--oh, and on closer look all three do have thorns, just on one they are more prominent.

Not to be a smart-alec, but the good thing about your trees is that they are all very different, so when any of them have mature fruit you will know which it is very easily. Now, if you had 3 varieties of mandarins that all fruit in the same season... that might be trouble. ;)

To be honest, some citrus trees are just hard if not impossible to tell apart by looking at leaves alone. You'll know eventually, though!

P.S. I got two of mine all mixed up once. Took me quite a while to remember which was which. These days I can tell them apart at a glance, but that's because I know what each individual plant looks like, not each type!

In the for what it's worth dept. Rangpur lime is supposed to be a sour mandarine instead of a lime. So I don't would not expect lime scented leaves.

I would scratch the fruit to check the scent.
