I'm enjoying watching the change and am more aware this year than in the past.

My unheated sunroom (South facing) is a wonderful solar heat collecter all winter. I notice the positioning of the sun seasonally by what time in the morning, on a sunny day, it gets warm enough to open up (then it heats the whole downstairs!). And the placement of the deciduous trees that shade the room in summer, yet let the rays in all winter, is perfect - thank you, Garden Elves! Note to self: next winter, relocate the inside Norfolk Pine (it's grown so much it blocks a lot of morning rays!).

Another awareness point is the planter boxes I have on the front of the house (North facing) - it's taken me two years to realize than while they're in total all day shade in winter, come spring/summer the position of the sun changes everything ..... two years of shade plants fried :o(. I must quit planning in the dead of winter!

Finally (bet you thot I'd never stop!), my two Solatube skylights w/prism lenses wash rainbow patterns over the interior walls and it's taken me two years to determine that the intensity of the rainbows is diluted in the winter - another factor of sun strength and position.

Watching the four seasons evolve is so pleasurable here in the Carolinas!

I noticed that when I'm outside gardening in winter the sun goes down before I get tired. But in Summer I get tired before the sun goes down. It's just SO wrong! Cheryl

Cheryl, that is an excellent observation. I had never thought of it that way. I always have another hour or two of daylight to admire what I've done. Usually from the hammock with a cool refreshing beverage. Sweet tea more often than not.

I've noticed the daylight is getting longer. I can hardly wait for March 8th, daylight savings.

Yeah, now it's hailing instead of snowing. On a brighter note the days are getting longer and the birds are singing cheerfully instead being cranky with each other. The one thing that's a bit worrying though, it usually pouring rain about now. If it's raining down here it's snowing in the mountains. Are we heading for a drought situation this summer, I sure hope not.

I am more surrounded by trees these days. I used to be able to track the sun at sunset, over the river, and in the am, by where the sunrise was....in the cedar bush, I just notice the changing patterns of sun and shadow, though not so much shadow before the leaves. But there are longer days - the sun set today at 5:30 pm. Such a treat. And as I continue to sow, and watch my new babies grow, I am so much thinking about the growing season to come!!!

Yep, I too noticed the change in the amount of daylight.

In November & December, I was rushing home from work to get potted plants watered with only 30 minutes of daylight to spare. Now, I have at least an hour, maybe more.

Other changes? My blackberries have begun to bud out, and my Peruvian lilies are blooming. Yippee!!! Plus, this gardener is getting a bad case of spring fever. Just wish I had more energy after work and an extra day on the weekend.

The male birds here have started singing "Come over here sweetie and look at me..." and "Hey you! This is my turf" Soon the goldfinches will be gold again!!LOL!!

Noticed the same thing here. The bedroom that the computer is in has a big palladium window and you can see the angle of the sun coming in the window changing from day to day. In the early winter, the sun is lower in the sky and when I am at the computer during the day, it hits me square in the face in the upper portion of the palladium window. As winter wears on, the sun in face phenomena begins to decrease!

It is pleasant to be able to go home after work and the sun is still up. I really hate it when I start my day in the dark and end it in the dark.

Yes, absolutely! Here in the Pacific Northwest, we seem to cross some invisible threshold the first week of February... the birds start to sing in the morning again, the crocuses pop their heads up and bloom, and, most importantly, it's still light out when I leave work! It's FABULOUS.
