Diva Cucumbers

I love Diva cucumbers. They bear heavily and all season for me. The problem for me is getting them going. They are so fussy.

First of all, the slugs like them way better than any other cucumber plants I grow. OK, so Sluggo there. The slugs even dug up my Diva seedlings last week in my greenhouse before the seedlings broke the soil and left all the other varieties of cukes untouched. Time to replant inside the house.

But for the last couple of years, even in the ground, my Diva seedlings have grown only one or two sets of leaves before they die. It may be slugs attacking at a low level or ? They have done so fabulously for me in the past. Has anyone else noticed a change in the last 2-3 years?
