dsire, your plant almost look like two different types..Are you sure it's grafted? If so, check the branch on the right side, and make sure it's not a sucker. (growth below the graft line) If it is you want to remove that and fast. If you repot you can hold off on feeding for a while..fresh soil has nutrients..Some ppl wait 3 months but I wouldn't wait that long. Instead I'd repot in a pot 1-2 sizes larger than the pot it's in, then feed about a month later. What type of fertilizer do you have? Otherwise your citrus looks nice, but I'd check that second branch..Do you know what a graft liine looks like? Again, if it's a sucker, remove it. This growth will grow right under the graft. Toni

Don and kmltx 9, sorry your questions have gone unanswered. Being at the end of a long thread it probably has not been seen by a lot of people. You might want to start a new thread with your questions. Kmltx, your tree will fruit again IF it came back above the graft. Meyer lemons are grafted onto a more hardy root stock and sometimes it is the root stock that grows if the top has died back. Perhaps you can carefully inspect it to try and see where it was grafted and determine which you have growing now, the rootstock or the Myer lemon trunk that was grafted onto it. Don, sometimes young trees or trees in pots that don't have a strong root system to support fruiting will flower nicely, but will drop young fruit. Maybe try putting it in a larger pot. And give it as much sunshine as you can. Since Myer lemon trees are subject to below freezing weather unless protected in some way that means dragging it into a warmer area when the temperature drops. Myer lemons will produce mature fruit while in a pot, but not as many as it would in the ground. Hope this little bit helps. I too am curious about grafting. I have purchased parafilm, and plan to attempt to graft onto what I believe is P. Trifoliate. Once the temperatures have warmed up a little more I shall attack. My game plan at this point was to attempt multiple bud grafts towards the base of the tree. The tree is over 6ft, and has a 1cm in diameter branch about a foot and a half above the ground. I was thinking I would bud graft around this area, and if the graft takes (stays green or the petiole easily falls off) I would then saw through eight tenths of the trunk above the graft. Therefore, leaving the branch towards the bottom alone, in the hopes it supports the graft. And if all goes well, eventually removing that last branch and remaining trunk. It certainly looks like mites. If indeed it was mites the damage was already done before you sprayed. The fact that you sprayed Trilogy (which is a neem product) and soap does not remove the damaged from the leaves. Your leaves will look like that probably for the rest of their lives. If the mites are gone the new leaves will look normal. You might consider starting a regimen to walk your grove to carefully inspect for any potential problems at least weekly. It is also a good idea to start a data base of any problems, where they occurred, what time of year, the date the problem was noticed, and treatment given and results. Many growers feel that by doing this they get a heads up of what to be on the look-out for during each season.
