Laura, the weather is frosty (30F now, and rising), but the Sun is out brilliant and golden white!
This is the day, three days after the Solstice, when we begin to notice the increasing day length....
Three days in the tomb of heaven, and then the Sun returns to grace these sleeping northern climes.

Excellant timing on your plant's part, Josh! Mine gave a short burst of blooms then stopped. I suspect bringing it inside where temps no longer varied much may have been the culprit.

I LOVE the way Christmas fell on the calendar this year folks! I still have today off because it is a Holiday:-)

Here are some pics of mine just in time for the holiday and one in particular that a kind forum member here will definitely recognize. It is just about to bloom although very young.

What is weird is that I noticed one plant the larger has 3 ridges on the leaves and the smaller has 5-6 of them. Strange I thought.

Hi Mike...the one with the more ridges(5-6) that might be a easter cactus....you'll know when that flower opens, easter cactus look like aster flowers.....
plants all look great, and the last picture is that a orange tree/with oranges??? and also am I seeing limes or lemons...that is so cool....

Nice pics of your plants! I'm not sure why the leaf-margin has more of those bumps....?
On my CC, however, there are a variety of leaf-shapes, some young and some mature...maybe that's it?

In the first pic, I see what I think is an Easter Cactus to the far left (in original soil).
In the third and fourth pics, I see those interesting leaf segments and a very pale colored bud.
When that one blooms, please post a pic so we can examine the plant better! The color and the
angle of the flower attachment should tell us more.

Toni, I've heard of CC's being available at certain places, but I've never seen an
actual CC sold in a retail store. They're all TC's as far as I can tell.

My CC is 33 year's old now.

I have looked repeatedly for a real Christmas Cactus in my area, even at the 2 "high end" nurseries and florist shops. They all sell TC as CC. I checked online with the same results. Very discouraging.

just dropped in to say, the person that gave me my cc said it was a part broken off of a 50+ year old plant, now do you count that or from when it was broken off...then it would be about 15 years old. I have had it 4 years....
